What's up with the Admin guild "Game Master"?

I mean, seriously, it sounds like a neat guild, and yet, nobody has been in it for quite some time now. What, exactly, was it's purpose? And how would anyone join? This guild could use a few people.

I would be up for it.

Ever heard of Nemesis? Game Master was a position in which one person had control over many specific parts of Graal. Accounts, Playerworlds, etc. The last person who was Game Master decided to quit Graal, and in that time he abused his powers to delete account and such. (Ofcourse I know ignorant dolts are going to slam Nemesis in this thread, but for future posts; Shutup. You didn't know him and all you're doing is joining the bandwagon.)

This is true, IMO, about how in many aspects of life, one person can go and ruin something for so many people. It is, and isn't fair. While I can understand why the guild is now empty, at the same time, there are actually a few trustworthy people floating around here, but the question is, who can be trusted? That would be a hard slot to fill. I know there are a few people that, more than likely, are qualified for the position, such as Spark, MG, and a few others.
Spark got recently promoted to Accounts Admin, and is still in with PWA, so that may be too much for him to handle if he were also Game Master. However, since there is that 2-person PWA hiring taking place upon Sparks vacation return, he can really probably leave PWA, and let maybe Houdiniman take over as Leader of PWA.

Game Master is basically what Spark is. Houdiniman I hope would never gain control of the PWA, as his social skills are lacking. I can see what you're doing, making yourself look good and the such. We've all done it, and unless you're best friends with a global admin you have no chance of achieving such rank. I doubt the title will ever be used again.

Spark is the Playerworld Admin / Accounts Manager.

Tyhm was the last Game Master, Angel was the assistant Game Master.

However, Tyhm has quit, and Angel is, sadly, absent.

P.S. Awesome thread.

Scott, I don't see me glorifying myself at all. All I am doing is making suggestions about how an empty Administrative guild could be filled. I apologize if I came across as the "I am wonderful" type, for that was not my intention.

BACK ON TOPIC

If someone quits, can't they be replaced by someone who has earned about the same amount of trust/respect?

Just because an admin guild is empty, doesn't mean it should be filled just to fill it....I dont think we need a GM

Exactly. We dont need another global with full power for no reason. GM's are useless on Graal.

I would consider Stefan the Game Master, for some reason Coder and GM sounds basically the same for me.

For some reason, I thought that said Dungeon Master.

I'd like to remind people that STILL believe this "blocking people for no reason" rumor of two important things:

1) I try to make myself as contactable as possible. I give out my personal AIM screen name to do this. There are times when I need to be on AIM and can't give instant gratification to Graal problems. Sometimes I just don't have time because I have more important things that NEED to be done first. It's very rare that I can't help at all, but it does happen. When I block people it's because they refuse to e-mail me or forum PM me instead after multiple requests, repeatedly messaging me when I don't have time to help them. I just can't always drop what I'm doing to help with Graal problems.

2) Did any of you guys ever try to AIM Angel? Tyhm? Nemesis? Stefan? Unixmad?
I'm sure maybe a couple people could get ahold of Angel, but the average player with a problem has little to no chance of getting everything solved in under 10 minutes.

I think it's rediculous as one of the MOST contactable globals that I would come under fire for not being able to always drop what I'm doing and instantly solve your problems. Everybody has people who constantly nag them, even after trying to explain there's nothing you can do. I have more than my fair share as PWA, and I've only blocked about 5 people from Graal, ever.

I'd appriciate it if you have never had a problem with me if you didn't think this, because it's not true. IF you are one of the very few who have been blocked, forum PM me and we can clear things up.

I say we rejoice and eat pie, and then laugh as we throw tomatos at everyone who still remains in the guild.
It would be jolly good fun

It would give far too much power to someone who, right now, does not need that power.

P.S: I know what Houdini goes through; I get similar problems. I give out my personal AIM and sometimes have up to 15 or so conversations with people (excluding my friends), and alot fewer people know of me than know of Houdini. It kind of gets annoying when you're talking to your girlfriend and all of the sudden: "WTF I'M BANNED PLZ IS PWA HIRING?". Everyone deals with it differently.

The only GM I would still support would be myself (obviously) or galen.

He's the only one I think still worthy of running graal.

The duties of game master change with every GM.
