When pressing M in the game you see the new overworld maps, which show the whole island and the positions of the towns for easier navigation. The old overworld automapping has been removed, which reduces the lag/loading time drastically, but you need Graalv2.16 revision7 to support that.
In the future we can possibly add something to add new markers and signs on the map.
