Omega Limit

With the new year coming up and my all of a sudden loss of interest in Graal due to these stupid rules which forced me to resign from my position on Babylon also, I'm quitting graal as well, I can't stand Graal v3, this turning point and new generation is all too much, Preservation of Classics is what i'm all about, I dislike the way graal is evolving, To me, Graal has been dead since May 1st 2002, Which was my birthday and the day graal went totally p2p.., Some day for something to die eh? ;P, So Goodbye to all people who I am proud to call my friends and ones that have helped me at times, You all know who you are.

Peace.

Don't ask me why I changed the S to a Z, I guess you could call it a Limp Bizkit tribute, but that's not really what I intended it for.

Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
I doubt the rules would mean you'd have to quit. If it did then the chances are there were many staff doing the same job.

I quit because I refuse to work under these retarded conditions, it makes it akward losing rights, Whenever staff of babylon can be trusted anyway, and since I was Head Admin/Staff Manager, but HoudiniMan *****ed about the SM title, so I guess I was stuck with Head Admin title, I care deeply for babylon it's just things are becoming more difficult it seems.

Staff Manager is a 'BS' postion anyway... Any manager who hires a 'staff manager' should be smacked for being stupid and lazy...

I think a lot of these new servers are trying to make to many staff positions.

You shouldn't be looking for LAT's, GAT's, NAT's etc.

You should look for "Developer" 's who know how to do a little bit of everything and specialise in some areas.

You're Developers can also be your GP, FAQ, etc.

Keep everything linear.

Everyone answers to the Server Owner or "Administrator". No one takes or gives orders to one another.

If you're a server Administrator who can't put in the time to talk with your Developers and keep them on task and motivated, then why are you trying to run a server?

Less is more with Staff, keep Staff limited to friends and people you've known for a while.

A small motivated group with a common goal/vision can do a lot more than a large group with their hands tied and conflicting interests.

Just my thoughts

It's hard enough to get good LATs, GATs, and NATs, let alone getting developers who are good at more than one of those! It's a pain to find good level makers now-a-days.

If you promote teamwork vs. compitition then you can get people who are good at one thing and help them learn from each other. There was a time when LAT included NPC and Graphics.

If I were, say, a GAT, I'd love to work on a server that would help me learn more about NPC and Levels.

You want people who can think up a Quest/Activity, etc. and make it a reality, THEN ask others to help improve it/get it working just right (and of course an Admin to make sure that the idea fits the server)

It's kind of good for the Admin to have at least a basic understanding of not only Levels, NPC's, and Graphics for a server though, but also how they all interact with each other, knowing how to configure a server etc. I don't think there are many people left who know this amount of stuff about Graal

All in all though, I see a lot of new servers with all these staff members who arn't motivated, or can't do things because they only know graphics, or only know NPC and are constantly waiting for another "team" to finish what they started (when the other "team" really has little idea what exactily was wanted in the first place) and eventually loose interest... and thus-- staff that have no motivation to do work.

If you look hard enough you can find the right people. Maybe not the best people, but with a little effort they can learn and become great. Instead of having an attitude where we say "RTFM!" any time someone says they want to learn, why not give them help?

Okay, I'm done. Sorry for the long post

Took the words from my mouth. And to be honest, I am like that...

Sure, I might be able to make levels, and occasionally graphics, but alot of the time I need help to progress with my work, be it help with a malfunctioning script, some graphics, or brainstorming ideas... And when nobody's around to provide that help, nothing comes out of me...
