Gimp

I was wondering after toying with some of the features, and not really getting some of them to work

how is it possibile to make animations with gimp?
if at all...

Well, it depends. Mostly because of what operating system you use. If you use XP (even thought I don't know how to make animations in Gimp (and I'm sure there isn't)), you can just save the image to where each image is just a single frame, and get an animation program and link all of those images together. With linux, though, I'm not quite sure.

The only animation programs they have there has to do with 3D stuff. Might have to try google.

You can try that and look through all of the programs they have. It's tedious, but I'm sure there's something in there.

just get photoshop elements

you can make each frame a layer, then save it as an animated gif with save for web

since he is using the gimp i would bet he is using some distrobution of linux. i don't think adobe makes photoshop for linux.
