Event Suggestions:

Typed these up one night while I was bored... I forgot the other ideas I had but I'll post them when I remember them. How do they look so far?

1.) Individuality
People like to boast... however, the problem with Events is that
all people are getting them for is to have a strong item, strong items
should be gotten only through extremely hard circumstances, like a
quest that could take weeks to complete, but lets not get into that. I
think that every Event Item should actually have the person's name on
it, example: Jagen's Bracers, or Bracers of Jagen, or something to that
effect. Also, there is way too much flexibility for these items, we
should not allow them to be reset in the pool because of the fact that
they should be so rare that you should think twice before doing
anything 'permanent' to it. Also, they should only be able to be used
by the person who wins it. This also will solve the problem of people
who are paying for items using USD. How can we promote pride if you
can't drop/trade/ the prize you win? We can have an event house showing
all the winners and the things they won. We can also make something
like old kingdoms on 2k1 had; trophies. They would also receive
a trophy version of whatever they won that they could display OUTSIDE
of there house.

2.) Negativity
Tseng has started to do something with event items that I think is a
wonderful idea. For everything good there needs to be something
negative. For example, if I had something that gives me Str+2, we
should make it give at least Dex-1. For element resistances we should
also have a negative resistance. Ghosthit+10, Death-10, but currently
these are almost useless outside of PVP. We NEED enemies of each attack
type. In order to meet this I say we should HIGHLY emphasize new
dungeons. I would suggest making elemental dungeons with really
strong monsters nad maybe some sort of boss. We need new monsters as
well, the current style ones have gotten pretty boring I think.

I have my own plans that I personally believe are better but I won't post it right now because I'm currently too lazy to make a professional write up with diagrams and such, without 'em it would be acknowledged just as little as any other of those "how to bring balance to GK" threads.

Edit: Another thing that pisses me off; how items make others inferior, example: full helmet of might (str+1, con+1) when there's a blood paladin helmet with (str+1, con+2.) Rather than making items like that why don't we try to make them equally as strong but in different ways? Example: rather than str+1, con+2 on that helmet it could be con+1, dex+1?

Re: Re: Event Suggestions:

I agree that event items should be for the winner only, or have other restrictions to prevent exzessive trade. On the other hand, what if a strong player wanted to give his price to a newbie? Maybe the EM could take care about that when the winner is given the price. Anyway, what happened to the trophies? I won a silver castle once...

I vote for styled monsters for the kingdom dungeons - enough space and possibilities to make something unique to each kingdom.

o.o; How are monsters part of events suggestions...

And are we allowed to post our own? (like the Thread James made back when and we posted like, 200 weapons / armor peices and such to be made - what happened to those items btw)

If so, theirs plenty of things that could be made, either for looks or for counterparts of another sword... (darkflame : lightbrand inferno : ice sword / *new sword maybe* vorpal sword )

K you can start using your brain again now, satrek. When, in the present day, is this EVER likely to happen?

Anyway about the suggestion...i reckon that making it only usabl eby the person who wins it just makes the game even more unballanced (yeah yeah, <female dog><Female dog><female dog> about the game being unbalanced yet again). Rather than a powerplayer with a million and five event items one time trading one of those items away one day, letting someone else have a chance of having them (even though they hardly ever trade outside their little circle of powerplayers because of *****ical prices on items), it would just be one player who wins all the events would have those items and would always have them. Making it like this is like what they did to alchemy items: taking away the recipe but leaving the items there, so that those with them had an even bigger advantage because noone else was ever going to be able to get the items. (Good job doing that btw, i always like to chuckle to myself about it sometimes )

And more monsters sounds coolies, although you don't need new dungeons. The solution has only two words: KINGDOM DUNGEONS.

Also, having new elemental monsters for the sake of giving the resist items a purpose will only work if the dungeons have lots of different types of element in them. Say you had a ring with ghosthit+10 and death-10, and there are separate dungeons for separate elements. What do you do? You just go to the dungeon with ghosthit monsters in it, making the death-10 completely pointless.

I think that the ideas about making items only good for 1 player good, but what did you mean making a permanent change by dropping into unprep pool? Like all stats were cleared? Or what? Elorabate on that. And also, I think the alchemy reciepes need alot of fixing. I think a couple people who want to redo them should be given a chance to help. I know Ed wants to redo magic stuff, mayeb he wants to redo alchemy stuff also. I also like collecting alchemy books to try new things, but alot of the items in the reciees do not exist. So maybe some items could be evented off in a alchemist/sorc tournamant. That would be neat, or maybe be able to dig things, or have them as monster drops. Just an idea.

I think it will, be it in families, or even kingdoms, where I know some people who I think would give a second pair of gloves away. You'd need a first one for that though. My point is just that you should be able to give these items away, otherwise some strong players (paired with one-sided events) would accumulate all the items, and nobody could get them, not even by trading.

Alchemy recipes won't be added back in.

It'd make the game too fair!

if someone spends time on it, or if some of the staff asked some people who take interest in alchemisrty to help, it would be done. Just needs to be monitored. And whatever happened to some shop or whatever that would open, where you could trade event coins to get something?

The alchemy recipes have been redone, except for the armour and weapon-parts, using avaliable items, monsterparts and such. I don't know whether or when it'll be uploaded though.

Good question - I wonder whether there will be a few coins for everyone like there were easter eggs... make chimneys craftable for houses and have some presents pop out of them...
