Playerworlds to p2p

So when exactly are they going to be converted to p2p servers?

I still don't get it, I like Graal the way it is now, the p2p servers get better effects etc. and the free don't. I think if all the servers go p2p.
1) Graal will lose ALOT of people, that might not be so bad, but I think Graal will lose more people then planned.
2) Most people like me, can't see the special lighting effects anyways, so why should they have to pay for something they can't see.
I don't get it.

I'll enlighten you.

A) Stefan and Unixmad have been losing aproximently $1000 dollars American for the past 3 years hosting Graal for free.
B) With the increase in playerworlds, server costs are rising, and Unixmad cannot support such a server, even with a paying job. That's why he needs the money from the Player Servers

Basically, you're paying your rent for the house now.

Graal costs money
It didnt just appear out of no where.
Someone has to be paying for it and you cant expect Stefan and Unixmad to keep on paying for it. They need to make money to. They cant devote all there time to it. So I say if you dont want to pay for the game. Why not? YOu pay for your other games. Why not Graal. I mean its only $27 for a whole year. Thats not that expensive. Its just over $2 a month. Im sure you get more than $27 dollars a year from your parents.

Stefan, how do you get all of that money?

Do Unixmad and yourself have multiple jobs besides Graal, (I know Unixmad does)?

You people pay for other games for your PC and playstaions.
Whats so different about Graal.
Its a game like any other.
Why shouldnt you pay.
I mean Stefans gotta make money too.
He could just abandone Graal and go make more money elsewhere.
(and yes i have a p2p account incase you hadnt figured that out)

I seriously don't like it when I hear people say:

"Stefan is greedy."

Well, how would you like no Graal at all?

I think he deserves some money for all he does, he constantly is working on things, and adding new features, and graal exe's.

And I'm pretty sure he hardly keeps any of it, it's for keeping it running. When all servers do go p2p, people will want to upgrade, but is 27 dollars for a year enough to keep Graal running?

A whole $27.
OMG.
I mean like your not gonna be poor.
Its only $27.
Games from the store cost a lot more.
And Stefan must have put loads of time into Graal. I mean away you go and program a game as good as graal and as popular as graal and see if it really is as easy as you think. I guarentee you it isnt.

It would be nice if he had a time to answer peoples questions.

Like 3 times a week for about 30 minutes, I don't think that's that bad...

I think it's a good idea.

I know but it must be hard trying to answer every PM.
He must get flooded with PMs.
He cant possibly answer them all.

I do answering PMs like 20 hours a week,
but when >1000 people with upgraded accounts
+ 20 playerworld owners want something from
you it's not easy

Well, you could organize more (which I've known you had).

Like give playerworld time on a certain day. (It's very nice and relaxing when you answer our PMs very fast, it almost feels like no one else is PMing you)

Etc.

But yes, you do answer most of them, but I've been waiting for you to do my request for over a week and a half now.

Hey I understand, I do have a p2p account, and interested in getting another if I could just figure out how to use Money Orders or something like that, I don't have a credit card. And I understand that Stefan needs money. BTW Stefan can you help me get another account using Money Order or something to that effect?

Hey Stefan, If a playerworld would like to be kept free, is their any way the playerworlds staff could pay a monthly fee for the server to be hosted?

You can charge different amounts for different maxplayers count (found on serveroptions.txt)

I'm sure other people wouldn't mind knowing if this could be a possibility. If you would rather it be personal, I am very interested.

I see any playerworld going P2P, would be directly competing with Graal2001 for people. The only server that could have even a slight chance of competing with it is ToT (well when it's done).

If he went by maxplayers.txt
if all servers were p2p accept that server
there would be like 9999999 users =D

Only so many users would be allowed on, and that number would be defined in maxplayers.txt .
