earth to dust

I think we all know earth to dust - I even think it's fun the way it is, still it makes fortifications and fences pointless. Them being destroyable by force is okay, and earth to dust wouldn't be that bad, if it workes on a smaller scale... But as it is, you can anihilate a screen full of stone fortifications...
What about this: make it so that it works like a bullet my means of hitting line of sight unless dragged - the fortification it hits is damaged down to 5%, those nearby (if any) go down to 25, then 50, then 75, then - no effect. This way, the spell may be used to strike a hole in someone's defenses, but not destroy all he has worked for to set up...

Then it wouldn't become dust, which is what the spell does. Just use wooden fortifications or something :o

Okay, then make it dust one or 2 - not a whole level. And it takes down anything, wooden fences, stone fences, fortifications of any kind... and spell walls, which in turn is a good thing if people used them to set up traps at unstick...

Yeah, if Earth to Dust is so powerful, it should have a full screen Burning-Hands style animation. Like, from the other level you see this flash of green, then the guards yell for reinforcements before this mega beam tears through the walls...

but what about houses? i want to put a fence around my house i'm building, but with earth to dust someone can just come up and destroy all of it .. even if it's timed like burning hands ... that's not very fair, i can't always be there to protect my house =(
