You'll need a bamboo stick (harmonia) nail, 2 iron, and a cloth. Craft it in Zehn. You say /bait <itemname>. You can dig for worms as bait, but an unbaited fishing line works too. You can catch fish for +35 food, or sell for about a plat each (15 charm).

Does baiting the hook with different items actually change anything?

I've had the same success using a worm as bait as I had with a nail.

I don't think so. Maybe if the npc had to choose, the worm might get it?

Then again, why bother wasting a nail (Does the bait dissapear after..?) when with a shovel, worms are free. Or you can just ask for someone with a shovel to dig up a few.

I don't think eating a fish with a nail in it would be to good.

But, neither would eating a fish with a worm in it. O.O!

Wait.....What's so great about fishing? I really don't feel like gathering all those materials and find out. Do they do a complete refill on your food bar or something?

I was just testing how the baits work out. Turns out fish enjoy munching on pointed metal just as much as worms.
