Instead of GuardsT-----Towers
|
Instead of a complicated laggy guard system where npcs walk around jailing and attacking people, I have thought of an alternative, simpler method. Guard Towers.
The towers can be set by kings, for a price deducted from the kingdom treasury. the towers have alot of HP but are destroyed when they 'die", but they recharge quickily. They attack by throwing boulders or maybe nets at anyone who commits a crime until a) the tower is destroyed b) the criminal is hit c) the criminal escapes the guard radius of the tower. The area the tower patrols is very large, several levels. When you are hit you go to jail for 20 minutes.
Kings can move towers like houses, change the list of immune people (who can do whatever), change the lsit of people who are automatically attacked by the towers, and the security level which determines what is a crime.
Level 0=Defualt, the tower is off and will not attack anyone.
Level 1=The tower will only attack people who attack the tower, anything else is legal.
Level 2=The tower sees attacking the tower itself or any member of the kingdom as a crime
Level 3=The tower will attack anyone who attacks it, attacks a member, or is part of an enemy kingdom.
This would a) add a use for the treasury money b) protect the kingdom members c) by being destroyed/attacked enemy kingdoms can leave a mark when they raid an island |
