Some Cira Baen business to attend to...
Alrighty...

Lately, while I was on vacation, I've been thinking about Cira Baen a lot. I throw out some ideas and added new ones.

In the below pic, you'll see the new GUI.
This is just a little of what is changing.

I talked to Screenie, and he said the blue wont be there, tahts juss so you know the area the text will be in. We are in need of GFXors, cause we still have to do our tileset, once taht is done we have people like Mars Thrax and Ex taht want to build levels so it should go fast. Jinx reccommended to me us getting a Private Server, but right now we obviously dont have enough done.

Thats what I was trying to say when you showed me on AIM! I got a new idea for it though......

You can click or hold/press a button to show stats, Chat should be at bottom though, that way, you only got the chat and info/news at boottm, thus giving you ALOT of space to see the level, almost as much as at the moment, But like ''DK'' he ment Doragon Kodens used to have a thing like that, it was very annoying, you couldnt see anyone running at you and you often got killed as you couldnt see anything, and its hard on your eyes because you can only see in a little bit!

Its too big, it will get annoying walking around with a little box to see. Mainy one of the reasons i didnt play ever_quest....

Omg, he said my name :O Anyway, I think they will make an option to possable toggle from that view to the full window view, making the Chat appear without a box. About the news, im not sure if they should go with something like Maloria got, or just make it appear as the chat text only a diffrent font and/or color.

yes, we might add the toggle screen, and i dont think it wud lag very much, and u wud be able to see the bottom parts, it wud have what part you are in, just minimixzed and in the upper corner...

Everyone is so funny, let me list some possiblities for it.


1. I'm possibly going to implement some system where you have to have your screen in fullscreen mode, 640x480. That way, everyone has the same viewing screen.

2. Everything in the GUI, except for the chat and news can be toggled on/off.

3. Only chat and news will be displayed, but you can press a key to view a certain GUI, such as S for viewing your status. It will display and after 5~8 seconds will fade away.

4. No all time GUI. For the news and chat, whenever someone chats, then your chat will show up, after about 5~8 seconds, will fade away. Same with news, news arrives, displays, fades after 5~8 seconds. Also can press a key to view certain areas of the GUI.

5. GUI areas are togglable or fading. You can choose to have a part show all the time, or just appear whenever something happens with the specified GUI area, then fade away.

6. Timed GUI area apperances. You can set the time, like every 30 seconds for a GUI area to appear, then after 5~8 seconds, fades away.
