umm sword upgrades

ummm well there are like alot of swords and the diamond sword is like ugly and i wanted to use like other swords but does less damage so i think you should make a shop that you can take whatever sword to it and pay the blacksmith mienrlas and money for him to upgrade it and make it into 9 damage sword like diamond blade

Won't happen. It'd be completely unrealistic.

umm no it's realistic because you can get a skilled blacksmith to make the blades sharper and stuff and that would cause it to do more damage

Just because the blade's sharper doesn't mean it'll do more damage in battle.

well sharper blades will probably get like a deeper cut and do more damage

Welcome to the world where technology is supreme... there is a thing called armor which stopped the chopping in half.

Swords are not supposed to be sharp anyways... swords are meant to beat the living hell out of people but if there is enough power behind the blade it can peice the skin.

And diamonds are supreme to metal and other types of swords. Diamonds can cut through glass and are nearly unbreakable?

not everyone wants to use diamond blades .for example the forest people might want to use jade sword to mtach them but they do less damage so they should be able to pay blacksmith a diamond to upgrade it into +9 damage

Umm....... maybe I'm being a little simplistic, but.... why not enable a "setsword" command like on other servers, but a little different? Release a few extra skins for each type of blade.

Like if you have a Diamond Sword you can setsword diamondsword-#.png, where # is the number of that skin. But you can't make a Diamond Sword use a jadeblade-#.png skin because that would be misleading to the other players.

I'd like to see this happen with swords, helmets, armor, shields, and so on.... maybe even naginatas and bamboo sticks and whatever.

We will have new swords that do as much damage as the diamond sword so that there is a selection... also some weapons that do different types of damage, such as a fire sword which would do little normal damage but more fire damage.

There are scrolls that enchant weapons to make them lighter, stronger (but also heavier), or you can enchant them to add one or more stat points while equiped. People just haven't figured these things out yet =P

I thought enchanting didn't even work yet.

By the way, it's not just 1k+ to enchant, because you need to "prepare" the weapon first. So you need to spend another 1k+ to buy a prepare scroll. So for about 2k+ you can make your weapon stronger. x-x

Hey, have you seen the prices of spells recently? Don't complain that warriors have to pay lots for their equipment when mages have to pay even more for their equivalent.

To prepare you need to sacrafice diamonds as well. The square root of how many diamonds you sacrifice = the number of enchantments you can get.... so 100 diamonds = 10 enchantments. BUT, there are level limitations on enchanted items, too.... I don't remember what those were, though... something like number of enchantments allowed = 1+int(level/5)

Bleh Weapons right now are so one sided the best is the best and thats that

Altho it would be nice if weapons had a ability to it, like lets say a Katana has a 5% chance of a deadly blow, or lets say a Kryss (that jagged sword) has a 25% chance of critical strike (doing double the damage)

This could balance out weapons much more

The diamond is embedded in the hilt of the sword and channels the power of the Holy Mother of All Diamonds into the blade or something.......

I agree with you. The only real explanation for this is maybe you chip the diamond into lots of small pieces and embed them along the blade edge, but then the image should look different..... blah. Wouldn't do much against armor, either, it'd just break.

it is unrealistic, but graal is unrealistic. how would a diamond blade be stronger than a steel blade (example)... it makes no sense so it wouldnt be to far fetched if you could upgrade your sword

To make a diamond blade you would probably have to cut one out of a huge diamond, or you can make it out of tons of smaller diamonds...

Maybe it's just coated in diamond dust?

in real life diamond dust wouldnt make a differance... then again, if you had a really jagged sword and stuck it inside someone and ripped it out and it was pulling veins out with it, now that would be deadly

That's completely rediculous. 10 diamonds and 2K to add ONE enhancement to a weapon?

2K plat and 10 diamonds would take days to get, even with a solid playing schedule. And you can do other things while camping, instead of focusing completely on the game, moving your character around, getting diamonds, plat, etc.

Days, fine. But I've heard of EQ quests that take people weeks to finish. All I'm saying is that it's not so bad to make the best equipment hard to get. Otherwise everybody would have it.

But this isn't "the best equipment." This is cake. A 4 AC bronze breastplate with +1 fear resistance should not take a week to earn.

And that is partly true, some quests take weeks, but only for the most rare and valued items, like the Journeyman's Boots that give you fast insta-speed, or the epic weapons that are now outmatched by some weapons from the moon.

No, if a blacksmith gets a chanter to enchant his metals/minerals before hand the weapon he/she makes will be enchanted.

I can embue emeralds, but that's all I can do because I'm a druid. :o

Even though in the screaming mace quest you give the dwarven mace to the chanter and he enchants it...but I dunno if it's just because he's an NPC or if it's an enchanter spell. I don't have the patience to lvl my enchanter far enough to find out.

Weapons can't be enchanted. That is, an enchanter cannot cast "Enchant Weapon" and boom, your weapon is better. I'm afraid we'll have to cut this discussion short however, because of, you know.
