Suggestions for:
WEAPON TYPES:
Whips - The cloth or rope variety weighs less then a sword, and has longer range, but does less damage. The chain variety weighs about the same as a sword, does more damage, and has a long range, but has a chance of not flicking at the end, so it "duds out" I suppose you could call it. That is, it doesn't inflict any damage.
A whip has to strike someone at the flick point, when basically the whipcrack sound is produced. If the person is near the center of the rope, they won't be hurt.
Crossbow - This was one of the greatest technological inventions seen on the medieval battlefield until the gun was introduced. The crossbow was a bow attached to a long slender shaft, with a simple firing mechanism and handles. It looks much like a modern day rifle, except with the boy ontop. The crossbow was a valuable asset to every kingdom, as now even the most poorly-trained knight in the path of archery could have a range weapon to use to their advantage.
The crossbow has a fairly good range, although not as long as a longbow, something similar to a shortbow, and it can deal MASSIVE damage. As the pull of the bowstring is caused by a great deal of force buildup, this requires an extreme amount of effort to load the crossbow. Loading a typical crossbow took around 14 or 15 seconds, depending on how strong you were to pump the crank. Since people would get bored waiting there, let's say it takes around 5 seconds to load. However, when fired, the crossbow fires an arrow lightning fast forwards from the bow.
The arrow will completely ignore any defenses the enemy has, so AC and physical resistance are not factored into the total damage reduction from a hit by a crossbow. The exchange for this is that the crossbow takes a fairly long time to load, and is very short range.
SKILLS:
Sight of the Hawk - Allows the user to look forward a certain distance, maybe 100 or 200 feet. (Open to suggestions.) It can be used like any normal skill. You need a special Scroll of the Hawk to learn it. (Found in Whatever Dungeon.) Type in "/use_skill hawksight" to use it.
Sword Blocking - Allows the user to block with their sword instead of a shield. If they have no shield equipped, it works like a shield would. It can be breached more easily then a shield however. You need a special scroll of sword blocking, bought from a certain merchant. Type in "/use_skill swordblock" to use it.
Frenzied Rage - Allows the user to go into an absolute frenzy. STR+4, CON+4, Attack Power+3,Walk Speed+0.700, lasts for 2 minutes, after which, the user is drained. CON -2, AC - 3, Walk Speed -0.400. The drained state lasts for 1 minute. Frenzied Rage cannot be used again for another 8 minutes after the drained state wears off. This is a barbarian-only skill, and can be learned from a rage stone, sold by some shopkeepers. Type in "/use_skill frenzy" to use it.
SPELLS:
Dementia - In the FEAR category of resistances, Dementia freezes the target in place with images of a demented existance, leaving them open to attack. It can be resisted with as low as 4 fear resistance. In the sorcerer category of magic. (Level 1)
Dementia Deluge - In the FEAR category of resistances, Dementia Deluge floods the victim with images of dementia, freezing them in place, which leaves them open to attack. It can be resisted with as low as 7 fear resistance. In the sorcerer category of magic. (Level 2)
Agility of the Rat - Beneficial spell, so no resistances. Grants +3 agility to the target. Lasts for 5 minutes. In the priest category of magic. (Level 1)
Agility of the Cat - Beneficial spell, so no resistances. Grants +5 agility to the target. Lasts for 6 minutes. In the priest category of magic. (Level 2)
So, uh, yeah, that's about all my suggestions for the day. |
