It is a starting item... but with a rare chance of starting with it... It also cannot be droped like all the other starting items

Regular wizards hats can't be dropped either...the only beginning items that can be dropped is the sack and pencil (I don't think it can be dropped though, but I can't remember).

not really... a short while ago i was goofing off and got myself stuck in a bed while a snowstorm kills me bout 8 times... i did that twice and didnt notice i had the hat...

ARG I HAVE A RECIPE TO MAKE HELMET OF LYTHANDER!!! BUT I CANT FIND A REGULAR HELMET ANYWHERE!!!

If anybody has the item called "helmet"...just plain helmet...I will pay like 30 plat for it or more...

Its the only item i havent been able to collect thus far for my special helmet..

A) Could I pay you to teach me this recipe, and

B) I'd guess you can use any helmet? Or maybe you've already tried that... but if the recipe said "helmet" I'd just try using any old helmet. Let me know how that turns out.

a plain old helmet (just like a plain old axe) is an alchemy-made item

the other way to get those items is to clean out the 48 monster room in dungeon 1.... but you won't know what it is until you identify it :P... most have different weights or won't stack.. one time I got golden plate mail of woe ^.^

i have sorc's hat of mass, it is better

what skill do you use to identify them (woodsman, blacksmith, alchemy, jewelery, ect)?

Snese magic, thaumaturgy, and alchemy
woodlore is for food
Jewelry for amulets and ring, I dont think it works yet
Blacksmith is for dropped armor and swords.

Try any helmet, i think helmet means any helmet
