Corupt: this is an awesome idea and I hope Stefan or Unixmad consider it. Wind why don't you send a PM to Unixmad asking him to consider this idea and yeah it will be used be alot of people becuase sometimes people use only one messenger like I used Yahoo! only messenger I had but I had to download AIM and MSN to talk with the graal people if we had a graal messenger that would be sweet

I was considering making a graal messenger a while ago.. I planned nifty features and stuff like you could have your game stats/character tie in to the messenger system somehow.

The only problem is, it needs to be hosted.. like aim, the messenger needs a server. I could make a chat program like iParty though.. where you host the chat yourself.

You can use AIM, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Instant messenger, and IRC Chat all at once, I talk to Graal buddies who all have AIM, ICQ, and stuff like that all spread out, it works wonders, and it is it's own program too, so if you hate ICQ you can now use it to talk to buds who use ICQ without having to mess with the ICQ program (or its popups)

i didnt get the concept but you can put Graal Accounts in there, then you can set you nick to anything, then u can pm to anyone. Meanwhile there should be a chat connected to it with Graal Channels to talk to, (example: Graal 2001 Chat) and it has how many people it has in the chat room, it is a great idea and i hope someone can make it!

Great Idea, but you'd have to get information sent from Graal to the Messanger and Vice-Versa which would mean you'd need to have Stefan or Unixmad's Permission.

Trillian blows my toes. It's awful, I hated using it when I tried it out. For one, it lacks features that the other messenger programs have. I don't know how many times I was on aim talking to someone, tried to direct connect to show them a picture, and they say "hold on, I'm on trillian, let me get on aim" X_X;

I just use aim and icq.. although I probably wouldn't use icq if it weren't for unixmad and others that only use that messenger. Anyone that uses yahoo messenger is retarded, as it's nothing but pedophiles messaging you to cyber, and I barely know anyone that uses it.

The only problem I see with having this "GIMP" is that it's going to just be yet another program I need to run. I don't just use aim and icq to talk with people on Graal, so then I would need to be running icq, aim, AND gimp. Which might just be a big pain in the butt.

What if I want to talk with non-graal people on aim and icq, play graal, and also talk with graal people that don't play graal (gimp). I would be running four different ways of chatting. That's getting a little overboard really. Surely if there was a graal instant messenger made, it would be licensed by Graal, meaning it probably wouldn't be free to use, since it's running off their servers.

I highly doubt stefan/unixmad would give some random person access to the account info on the server to tie in with a 3rd party messenger program. Stefan could easily make one with existing Graal code. (just taking graal's pm system and making it a seperate exe)
