Exclamation RC Security

An idea occurred to me that I wanted to share with all of you. (Particularly Stefan.) What if, instead of IP protection on admin accounts, they would be set to use the Machine ID of the person they are meant for? So in order to do that, the first time the person logged on, it would record their machine ID and save it, and then for a new person to be issued the RC account, the machine ID for the account would have to be reset by the manager/Stefan/etc? Sounds like a great deal more security.

Nope, it's illegal to transmit machine IDs via the internet, or any translation of said IDs. If we could do that, we could do that on account creation....

Oh ok, I didn't know that. I don't think it would be necessary to do that on all accounts anyway, as players sometimes play from different computers. For admin accounts, on the other hand, it would be a good idea, if it were legal. Thanks for clearing that up, Tyhm.

Also not necessarly a good idea if people use more than one computer. I have two computers I use. One is on a cable and doesnt range so its just the one IP. The other is on dial up and has three so I have a total of 4 ip's on my RC.

is it illigal to transmit the machine name data if the owner of the machine gives permission and have it just for level 4 rc's?
