WARNING: Level editor

If you want to make levels, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE GRAAL 2002 PREVIEW! In it, the level editor is in some way extremely weird (you don't wnat to know) and it's annoying to make a good level. So keep your old version of Graal, and use a goback program or an old version if you foolishly downloaded the new version like i did.

The scroll bars are removed and you have to use the arrow keys to move a graalian around to even change your view to tile. this graalian takes links and stuff, but there are no scroll bars and no option to go back to the old way of doing things

You can use the mouse to move the guy. But it's kind of buggy, sometimes the level doesn't move with the guy and you have you remove the current selection of tiles to be able to drag it with the mouse. I liked the scrollbars better.

Just use the setup.exe to download the old version
if you have problems with the new version. In the
packs list you can click on the version number to select
the older version.
The editor is a little bit different now. When editing
single levels it might look more complicated,
but you can now do multi-level editing (like on maps)
and the npcs are displayed in the correct order because
the normal game engine is used to display the npcs.
The editor is not perfect yet, might need to fix some
little problems (like sometimes you have more than
1 page with the same level)

For solving the problem with the removed
'dont connect levels' thing we might add some option
to make less scrolling if your computer is slow,
may be just need some script to do it

I have gotten used to and i still hate it...It was just fine the way it was, infact, it was the part of graal that recieved the least complaints...and you go change it, I am reminded of an old saying

"Don't fix it if it ain't broken"

it is ***, I can't edit my levels the way I want to, I preferred the classic system, it's not so much that the levels are linked, my comp can handle that (128MB RAM - 500MHz PIII). In fact, I actually like that, it's the way you move about to make levels, A scrollbar was the best way of doing it, and the player in the editor thing is just crap...I can obviosly see that little effort was put into it, and was probably rushed, hell, I press arrow keys to move him around (My cheap alternative to my beloved scrollbars), and he is stuck on frame 1 of walk gani. Whats more, I have to look at the coordinates of the level to see where I am (when creating a new level with blanks). The levels connecting is quite an improvement, it is great, but the player moving was excecuted terribly, and is only as efficient as in could/should be.

It is 100% perfect! I prefer using a keyboard to a mouse, it's much quicker and usually more efficient than using a mouse.

There's nothing buggy about it, Stefan did a really good job on it It also makes it easier to edit connected levels so that tiles are perfectly aligned.

You can drag the character around for faster scrolling.

Yah, I'm all for some sort of switchability since there are people who like and people who dislike. Just a button that turns off the man and enables the scroll bars, and vice versa. Sounds simple enough.

The only reason I would use an older client would be for map generating...that is it

Unless I can figure out how to access the stuff for the 3D terrain features...I would so much love to use that for my PW. There are so many posibilities with a feature like that.

i love the new way, now you dont have to set the cordinates when you first play the level and you can move the character around where you want it before you play the level

at first i thought that it was a NPC on the screen and i tried for 5 minutes trying to delete it :S

I never knew you could move the guy with the arrow keys. I hated the fact that he sometimes dissapeared under NPC's.
