Horrendous GFX Talent...

I hold such a unique talent as a graphic man, my true art is so appealing it's unheard of...

In all seriousness, I was just trying to get some shading down and it turned into a mess with just clutter***** of dithering. I'd really like to learn and maybe even improve, so here ya go! (It isn't done, my train of thought was gone!)

For something like a cloud, you may benefit from filling the object with the darkest shade and drawing in the lighted sections, instead of trying to draw the shading last. It ends up feeling more natural in my opinion.

For example, here is a quick scribble I did in Photoshop.

I wouldn't use this as a reference as far as volume and shading goes, as I kind of ignored logic in favor of saving time... but either way it looks much more natural and "fluffy" this way. It's easier to think about and draw where light hits sometimes rather than to think of where it hits and draw the inverse. Comes down to preference, though.

Applied techniques being hue shifting and dithering, i wouldn't say that youre horrendous... you just applied them wrong

Why have the inside of the cloud the same as your background? Even if its not complete, don't do that, makes it seems empty.

Well, I tried to test out my reference skills as far as "cloning" another image...
I sort of realized I had messed up on the nose perspective part, but ya...
Someone feels like shading it go for it, doubt it though considering it's junk.

tried fixing the nose and realized it was a bit wide, idk if it's any better...

in attempt to start shading...
