Hmmm but this needs scripters, probably not
many people can script very good baddies,
there could be tournaments where all people
can watch them fighting and even if its laggy
its still fair because both npcs will be laggy

Yes hurting and such stuff would be automatic,
you only provide one function to set the
the keys[] array, everything else would be automatic

Maybe there could be different tourneys for
one-on-one, team fight, arenas with different
stuff in it (like stones so the npcs need to find a way
around it otherwise they get stuck :-)

How about the baddies would have to lift or destroy the rock in order to get around it? This would require tile checking, which is a part of scripting.

Baddies as in compus or baddies as in showcharacter?

(It has t be shocharacter but like i was saying are you using the defaulkt bodys or showimg witht he baddie template)

what would you get if you win?

and yea if the bots are controled would there need to be a remote control or would you just like be the bot.

like would you be a person watching the battle and controling your bot

or would you accually be the bot?

I think it would be a lot harder, but a lot funner if the player had to script the baddy to do results based on data that it gets. Basically, make the baddy-bot non-player controlled. Meaning, the player just activates it and it fights. =P
