Change the entire overworld into a battleground

A few days ago I was in the arena when knockback was removed from spells. I had a blast PKing with other mages and melee players, it was probably the most fun I've had on GK in a very long time. As everyone knows PKing in a battleground and PKing on the overworld is entirely different. I wouldn't mind seeing the entire world turned into a battleground and have knockback removed from spells so we can't lame with things like paralyze and other cone spells. Of course the speed cap would have to be removed for it to reach its full potential. Shield Block and damage modifiers should stay the same and knockback removed from pretty much everything except monsters. Shield block would give mages a defense against taking damage from warriors and it would give warriors a way to stop mage bullets.

This would make PKing a viable option for all levels as well as giving people an actual chance to get a kill before someones at like 10 hp and runs inside. As it is right now everyone runs and it takes forever to kill anyone which makes attempting to PK anywhere else besides events and kingdom events kinda redundant unless you're laming trade or biling some poor noob that went bmode. I think it could help us have some epic battles if people were to die quicker and promote more PK. It would add a bit more strategy with shield block actually blocking.

If nothing else at least add shield block to normal PVP however I'd prefer everywhere be a battleground.

Shield blocking DOES sound good to me. I think it should be more useful than its current state.

Also, it sure does take forever to pk someone..

Very well thought out, i like this idea and fully support it. This would definitely sort out a very big problem with melee and that's damage and how it scales pvp wise. It seems that it's only worth while inside the arena's. Damage is actually much better scaled inside battleground arena's than in regular pvp, and that goes for magic as well, so mage's won't have the issues of magic resist scrolls rendering them useless, or mage vs mage battles being dreadfully tedious.

I would however suggest that new ways to scale magic dmg and resist are sorted out too, since this would effectively make any advancements in magic levels, useless as im pretty sure battleground magic dmg isn't level based or even resist based. Magic, and magic levels need to be made useful and not solely an SP waste.

I think it's a great idea. This would defiantly make pvp more enjoyable.

The entire overworld is a battleground provided you are in battle mode, if you mean even if a person is on peaceful mode then no, the idea is not very good, as there are people that willingly attack low levels just because they can, and when requested to stop they give arrogant responses like "I don't listen to people that ask me to stop." or "I was PKed before so i'm a PKer now.", well that low level fella wasn't the one that was making trouble for you before, but you sure are making trouble for him now.

If you want a suggestion then make a third mode again, peaceful, with the reduced exp rates, battle, for those that enjoy Pking, and maybe kingdoms mode? you can only PK the enemy kingdom while in kingdom core, otherwise you're like on peaceful mode and can't harm/be harmed, maybe give the battle mode rates for exp also so those loyal to the kingdoms have a benefit without suffering being attacked on sight? Not everyone that goes into battle mode can 100% defend themselves from a determined PKer.

I don't think you understood the suggestion Ironclad.

He's proposing that the current pvp system emulate the spar system in respects to how dmg is calculated so that fights aren't so dragged out. This would ofcourse solve issues of melee dmg inconsistency but highlight the issues of magic dmg concerning spells such as paralyze and fear.

I'm going to bump this again just because I still think this would resolve a lot of pvp issues if done correctly.

Edit: I still would like input on this I wasn't just bumping it to bring it to managements attention. I probably should have been more clear in my bump. There is a few kinks that would need to be worked out like probably removing knockback for spells and balancing magic a bit. It will give newer players a chance to PK with oldbies and not be at an insane gear disadvantage(although gear will still play a big part).
