Pelikano has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Squirt is a total newb, so is Deophite.

I don't see how HM could just get them out of Classic and give them Era, well I'm glad HoudiniMan is gone and I hope he'll never come back.

That is rude. And Squirt and Deophite are only really new to Era, which doesn't matter that much in this case, since they are doing PR stuff and team management.

Yeah but none of them have experience with other players.

Example:

Tig, who hung out on GK and now he wants to get off the server asap. People coming from UN and such, in my opinion, can't logically do a sufficient job with managing Era's populous. Idk, suprise me. (Squirt and Deo)

nose a tad brown? he was obviously referring to era, and to era they are new. era isnt UN or any classic playerworld, the only playerworld on classic that was even similar was maloria when it first launched perhaps.

Also, people need to see the difference between making a profit (merchanting) and scamming. :S

I've meet people that think you scammed them because you made a 1k profit on a gun worth 10k

They do but it doesn't take 6+ GPs on RC to do a little scamming issue and uploading problem.

And yet there is still no Staff to be on for a few hours when I'm on X:

You don't have to be on RC 24/7 either. You might have changed now but during Frankie and Icarus all you did was idle on rc and staff stick people.

This whole "scamming should be illegal.. no scamming should be legal!!" facade is kind of an annoying change for to be dealing with, and the inconsistency in general is quite unprofessional for a server like Era. I believe that the emphasis should not be on whether scamming is legalized or not, but on a way of reducing scamming and educating players so they don't get scammed.

It doesn't matter if scamming is legal, players are going to get scammed, and most MMORPG games have understood this fact. I'm not ignorant as to the main reason why MMORPGs do not look into many individual claims. I know that because of the amount of players most of these games have it would be a bad use of resources to track every player who gets scammed, but don't you think it is the same deal on Era too?

It's never a pleasant thing to discover you've just been scammed, but to be quite honest it is a part of the game. There is so many different ways to be scammed, and GPs can't cover the entire scope of scamming; that is why I believe it was promoted as legal in the past. With the promotion of "scamming is legal" came the problems with scamming as when you claim that something is legal, especially something like scamming, it promotes a "dirty community" as Tig once described it. I don't feel as though scamming being made legal was ever an issue, but I think it was the emphasis on it being legal itself was the problem. I'm not sure as though the current counterpart isn't exactly a good way of dealing with the issue either. When making scamming legal you are going to have players trying to beat the system, players targeting more carefully, and other methods that you should not be reversing such as high pricing for crappy items being used more often. Essentially, you will still have dirty community, but on a smaller scale.

Scamming should be something that you educate players about in order to prevent it from happening, not something that is "legal" or "illegal" but part of the game itself. If there are secure methods of trading items set in place, and if players are informed about these methods, it is up to the player. To reduce overall scamming and to give the players a greater sense of security overall they need to be educated, not juggled with inconsistent rules with limited reach as to how much they cover.
