I don't see what the big deal is.

I've never been one to scam, so it's going to be different from my POV than from yours.

It gives people a chance to tryout items before they buy them, and to try out items just for the fun of it.

It's not that.

There's nothing wrong with how scamming was before. It was quite plainly stated:

1) Be smart, use itemtrades, and you nothing bad will happen
2) Be stupid, don't use itemtrades, and something bad WILL happen

I think Deo will do anything to make his management as notorious and era changing (no pun intended) as possible.

You're making it sound like no one else wanted scamming illegal. I don't know anyone on the current staff roster who wanted to keep scamming legal. Also, this was brought up before Deophite was made manager.

The only excuse for scamming to be legal in the past is because staff have been too lazy to deal with scams. Now this is no longer the case.

If someone is too stupid to use an itemtrade, you think they'd be smart enough to find a GP?

Maybe not, but if there is proof of a scam the person who scammed can now be punished.

I like how players complained when scamming was turned legal saying the rules were only changed because of the incompetent staff members. Then once it's turned illegal players also complain. However, I guess you can't please everyone.

They sell a guy a item, then claim they were scammed

There needs to be actual evidence a scam took place. If there is none then we can not do anything. Even though scamming is illegal now we are always warning the players to PM a GP just in case to watch a trade. If someone USD's and claimed they were scammed they actually need proof as well. We can not judge one persons word about a situation.

So if you want to lend an item you can get a GP to watch it?

Yes.

Sounds like fun what happens if the person you lent it to gives it back and runs to another GP claiming that you scammed them and the other GP that watched the trade was helping you scam them.

I was saying old staff members didn't check logs. However, if you need to find an item feel free to PM me and I should be able to trace it.

For the record, and because I suspect this is going to be tried. Don't expect them to be looking up something that happened days or even weeks ago and getting everything undone. Thats being entirely unreasonable to ask. If you are scammed then complain in a timely manner or you are out of luck.

As bell said, I know staff have probably dealt with people who report a week/month later after there scams. It does get stupid >>;

I'm preeetty sure sales used to check logs because he was able to tell me the last time I had accessed my bank account on there when it had closed and how much I had had

I wasn't really talking about me, but yea, I used to check a lot of logs.

Many people were willing to check logs for things. Its just there was no standard practice of it always being done or never being done when it came to scamming. I believe the point here that is being made is it will now be standard practice at all times. Sales was actually good about checking on things but scamming was legal then so unless it was as exceptional case such as involving a staff member, it wasnt' necessary to look.

I don't see how HM could just get them out of Classic and give them Era, well I'm glad HoudiniMan is gone and I hope he'll never come back.

That is rude. And Squirt and Deophite are only really new to Era, which doesn't matter that much in this case, since they are doing PR stuff and team management.

Yeah but none of them have experience with other players.

Example:

Tig, who hung out on GK and now he wants to get off the server asap. People coming from UN and such, in my opinion, can't logically do a sufficient job with managing Era's populous. Idk, suprise me. (Squirt and Deo)

it doesnt matter, gps cant be on 24/7, era is corrupt (always has always will).

nose a tad brown? he was obviously referring to era, and to era they are new. era isnt UN or any classic playerworld, the only playerworld on classic that was even similar was maloria when it first launched perhaps.

Also, people need to see the difference between making a profit (merchanting) and scamming. :S

I've meet people that think you scammed them because you made a 1k profit on a gun worth 10k x_x

They do but it doesn't take 6+ GPs on RC to do a little scamming issue and uploading problem.
