I don't think it's a huge concern to think that any GUI would be imposed upon you in the first place. There are already 3 GUI options available to you. Adding another "profile" to those options wouldn't be too hard, making it so that you could add a million different GUIs, but no single one is being forced into use.

My 10 cents, though: Huge bars are definitely unsightly and take up way too much screen real estate. People, generally, prefer being able to see everything their screen is capable of seeing, hence why some people even minimise the current, non-intrusive GUI's already available. Every little bit helps in some people's desires. The health bar definitely would need to be at LEAST 90% smaller before I'd consider using it. Perhaps even the size of the armour bar would be a good size for the health bar.

No one seems to have noticed or made mention of my idea for a new "Join Events" button on the right side of the screen XD

I like it but the player count is quite low right now now and I don't know about hosting 3 events at once.

Pretty much this ^

Also, I wasn't aware this was a feature idea thread as the GUI is the topic title, so I neglected to bring it up. Adding GUI features (buff icons) = GUI idea. Adding to event functionality = Not related to this thread.

It's still part of the GUI :P

I cut off southridge from the map, too, does that mean i should add "also, take southridge off the map" to the thread title?

Sure, whatever floats your boat. But you missed my point entirely about events. You can't actually host more than 1 event at a time right now. In order to do that, you'd have to propose the event system be altered, rescripted, etc in a way that allows such functionality to exist at all before it can lead a way to your GUI based idea, that's all. And that's just what I'm saying, people aren't likely to mention it since at this time it's not even an option to add such a thing to the GUI.

You can't get to a place where that becomes an option unless someone thinks to make it an option first, which is what I was hoping would happen after someone saw it :P

But anyway, Here's V3. I made it much smaller, took away the party frames, etc.
You can see its size as compared to the old GUI (that's my customized version, albeit still the same size and shape as the original.)

We just need a bigger player count to allow multiple events running at once.

This is a version of your GUI idea that, given the chance of it's addition to the GUI options, I would probably use. Nice work.
On a side note, although it sounds very Terraria'ish, I like the idea of the buffs (and even debuffs, like "bleeding") being displayed outside of the inventory window. Obviously some disagree, but I find it more convenient. Not getting into any feature requests, but sticking with the Terraria'ish ideal, perhaps it'd be nice to actually have the option to cut short any buffs you do have by right clicking them in the GUI. It sounds crazy to waste a gelat-based potion, but some people do it, and the short-term cafe perks would probably benefit more from it. I know some people have asked to reverse the effects of a coffee they've taken.

Pretty sure he means debuff as-in remove the buff.
It wouldn't restore the item you already used with the remaining time... that would just be silly.

But say if someone used an Ice Latte to run away, but you cannot deal damage while under these effects, they could debuff it and the effects (both positive and negative) would be removed allowing them to deal damage again without having to wait for the effect to wear off automatically.

You're correct in your understanding of what he was saying, but incorrect in your use of the term "debuff".
A buff is a positive effect, like a LW or coffee.
A debuff is a negative effect, like bleeding, or being blinded by a concussion grenade.

The act of removing a buff would be called cancelling.

I'll see about implementing something similar to the ideas in this thread over the weekend.
