On Topic now: What is the big deal with v6? What benefits does a new version bring? More players? Does a new version of graal seriously take up every spare second of stefan's spare time for the past year or so? (P.S. im dead serious, i know nothing of V6 or if it is actually a new version of graal.)

You are looking at it the wrong way. We all know complaining probably wouldn't help much but it is better than saying nothing at all.

The only two servers i'm really concerned with are graal bomy islands and classic, thor already gave me a new bit of hope that things are going well even though progress is behind closed doors, as for rufus dealing with bomy islands, not much to go by other than his word, but i will think to the positive and guess he's doing lots of the same work as thor by getting base systems working and salvaging good graphics from koni and lance first before actual expansion happens.

I asked if overworld levels or whatever could be made first and pumped out periodicly so people could have visible progress being made and not have to post complaints so much, a quest here and there as it's completed, a new weapon or toy to play with, but maybe there would be problems doing it that way, things could go very wrong and ruin the whole project, i don't know, it WAS working that way on bomy moon, just lance seemed to lose interest and stopped updating, playercount dipped below 10 it was taken down again.

Allowing people onto the server and building it around them is what i asked thor, and it didn't seem like a good idea to him, so myself and many others just continue to wait, other people give up and move on. (i did for awhile, playing another online game since that seems to be getting monthly updates and holiday events constantly)

Stefan is a busy man and has multiple products that he has to tend to other than Graal PC.

V6 at the moment is just a performance increase, with added features to the engine, and changes to many other technical details.

If you don't like what they have to offer, or plan to offer, then it's probably time to find a new game to play.

I do agree that they need better customer service (support center), and that they need to learn how to accept feedback from their loyal customers.
Dude. You realize that those things were stated in a thread that was complaining about lack of updates, right? That information wasn't just handed to the public. It was "announced" in a thread much like this one.

A performance enhancement is going to do little to bring in new players. =/

But it will please the existing player-count with computers that can't seem to run it with all the bells and whistles enabled.

I've heard from Stefan that he's going to make the controls feel more 'native' and with proper GUI skinning it could probably look and feel like the current V5 playerlist. Staying optimistic because I look forward to extending the functionality of the newly scripted versions of old built-in menus.

An internal playerlist will get me angry. Down with change. Up with v2.31

I sure hope so!

It's not really internal. It's still "external" but it's the scripted one so it doesn't feel as smooth and looks/functions awkward.

I feel sorry for anyone who can't run Graal of all things. I see people with Pentium 4's still running Graal fine (if a bit laggy). If you have less than a Pentium 4 you need a better computer anyways.

Dare I even give my computer specs to show how right this dude is?

v6 plays very well on a PentiumII
For making controls feel more 'native': we have added support for dynamic cursor, so it's showing a text cursor if you hover the mouse over a text field or it shows a hand cursor when you hover over a link. You can also set the cursor for GUI controls. Currently only hand and text cursor are supported, later we could also support custom graphical ones.
