Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe they should release mass quantities of each hat (8-10 for each hat).

Being in a arsonist's shoes, it's purely for entertaining purposes. Not that I am an arsonist.

*Surprisingly watches the forest fire with amazement*

I'm sure Era staff can use their ingenuity to implement systems/ideas that can take more money out of the economy, and slowly re-balance the economic system, but this kind of idea shouldn't be part of the re-balancing act for the economy. Maybe they just want to release more secret hats :P.

Anyways, players can just set the value of the "secret/rare item", because chances are they will be only a single or few of them in the economy, and the value won't go down unless you have multiple of them selling for a low price. Players won't choose to opt for a lower price if they don't want it anymore, and want to get rid of it as soon as possible.

I never understood Graal's concepts of hats. Why the hell are some hats worth more than the items that are an actual benefit? I could understand if the hats gave you special buffs like extra health or speed but they're just there for appearance. I always thought it was stupid as hell when someone would try to trade me some ugly "rare" hat for an actual gun.

Does that make sense at all?

there's an even bigger question to it.

basically, auctioning off hats we can say is "fun" for the players. I use this term loosely.

they're only doing it because of the bad state of the economy.
with that being said, if the economy was actually fixed, does that mean they can't do anymore "fun" stuff?

I hope I'm making sense. it's pretty hard to explain. basically because the economy is ****, the staff are just doing random stuff they wouldn't normally do if the economy was actually stable. that's really stupid because then one day you're just going to yank all that stuff away and pretty much say play times over, now we're being serious.

same reason why I don't support giving every gun to the players before you reset. this effects the economy, trust me. there were certain guns that used to be extremely rare before Jenn's reset. when all the players got their hands on them, they got used to it. eventually these "rare" guns started getting released as public items and screwed a lot of things up.

Ye they make a profit.. But off money thats already in the economy. If the money is destroyed after the auction then it will help right?

Yes that is correct!, but I still don't see why they wont put theese in regular hat shops.

Because players over-value these stupid hats.

you're exchanging money for an item.

say a hat sells for 500k in the auction house. 500k will be removed from the money supply of the economy, but in return an item that is worth 500k is being put into the economy. since generally rare items sell for a lot more than bought, we're going to assume that the hat will now sell on the market for 600k, 100k more than what it was bought for.

eventually from jobs, the 500k will be put back into the economy. the 500k that was removed from the auction doesn't even matter anymore because of all the money made from jobs. so in the end, you didn't remove any money from the economy, and you also put an item in the economy that's worth a lot, which is why auctioning items is bad.

any questions?
