Someone tried to improve on something good and ruined it and made it crappy. I don't expect you to understand because you didn't play then. Old Era was good and I'm hpopeing you guys bring back the old aspects of it with a few new things with it.

Change is good, but not all change. It did not change for the better.

So because your opinion is different, mine doesn't make sense? I fail to understand how you're failing to understand what I said.

You are saying that if Old Era was so great, ti wouldn't have been changed, but thats horrible logic. People try to improve on even perfection and can screw things entirely up.

Theres a lot of new things I like about New Era that Old Era didn't have such as certain events and GFX's, but those improvements over the years don't even closely add up to waht Era use to be before Jenn pissed all over it.

Era has never been perfect though and always has had room for improvement.

Jenn was an excellent developer, but she took Era in the wrong direction. She couldn't trust people, so she tried to make gangs and businesses automated. She also didn't hire any developers aside from Andrew to help her out because she was afraid of abuse. She actually managed to create an Era that ran pretty much like clockwork with very little human oversight, but when she lost interest in Graal, she didn't quit. She held onto the manager position and went inactive. We never got new updates after that point, and things started to break without staff to repair them, because Andrew had very limited rights. In short, she wasn't a bad developer, but her paranoia led Era to the situation it ended up in after she was replaced.

She added a few things that were neat, sure. But she also added Serverside PK to bullets...
That for me and a lot of PKers killed Era.

Unfortunately, serverside pking was an inevitability. Stefan pushed serverside on major servers as a security issue, so it was going to happen eventually, whether Jenn did it or not. You can't really lay the blame for that solely on her shoulders.

I know I'm defending Jenn, which is kind of unpopular to do since most people remember her as public enemy #1, but I don't think she deserves as much crap as people give her. I worked with her during her stint as manager and spoke with her often. She wasn't the evil and menacing figure that people have made her out to be over time.

I think the management on Era is doing a fine job. I havn't been this pleased with Era for a while. The gangs are balanced. There arnt a bunch of wealthy business owners running around blowing the economy up with unbalanced things. The only thing I could see to change would be the amount of money players make off mining/flower picking. I see beginner players log on and pm me as a FAQ as how to make money. I really can't tell them to go mine or pick flowers considering it'd take untill the "reset" to make enough money to purchase the average priced gun. A decent gun goes between 50k-350k. Not to mention the weapons that are up into the millions. Aside from the unbalanced economy I think Era is headed in the right direction. The whole thing with Jenn is the same conspiracy as Mrs. Hillary Clinton trying to be president. Ya digg?

And yet she blames the players because Era fell to the bottom of the playerlist?

everyone has dreams, i don't really want to get all "communist" about Era but everyone has ideas and some people don't see by them
like for instance, you can think adding new things will satisfy your needs in Era... then a couple of months later it will get very old
when i started off there was always excitement i don't know if it was because i was new or not, but i think it was because i was new
im not going to recommend anything , i just hope that we get a better community because our community is **** right now with all the scamming

just like the gmap.
making era's map a gmap screwed with pking a little bit, along with adding a bunch of lag. stefan pretty much forced it upon the server.

Sales did you play in 2006 I'm just wondering because I can't remember..I think the direction its going in now sounds good hopefully it gets finished, but Era needs to quit switching developers and managers thats what ruins it really imo..oh and bugs and glitches...and resets..
