To quote the Classic rules list...
"If you warn a player for an offence, and they then put you on ignore, then ask them nicely to take you off ignore (using a server message, or asking them in game). If you are unable to contact them, say, you don’t have server strings or something, ask another staff member to message them. If they fail to comply, or ignore the second messenger, then skip straight to the jailing of the offence they committed. "
This particular rule has been in effect since 26th July 2003, and is being appended to say...
"Additionally, if you need to warn a player, who already has you on ignore, the same steps apply."
...at the end.
In the incident with which X-Mann was referring to, This is what happened, although the player was fortunate enough not to be jailed.
