Can Players Put Staff on ignore/
 

I believe players are allowed to put staff on ignore but i want to make sure. It's come to question. Anyone actually know/

You can. But they can still get through on MassMessages, or RC.

Gp's, admins, manager, etc....can always admin message you if need be, I think it is allowed, but then again, it might be up to the Manager of the server

Certainly you can ignore staff.
And certainly staff can ban you.

No playerworld is perfect so we also don't have perfect Staff on these imperfect Playerworlds so it is reasonable to at some point a player might need to put some ignorant Staff member on ignore because of some massing they are doing.

I don't see where this will hurt anything at all , IF a Staff member needs to PM someone as Spark said an Admin message cannot be ignored by a player so any important message can still be made to a player. In my opinion , banning a player for putting Staff on ignore is abuse of a player because of the fact it can be overridden by Staff on RC. (Admin Message)

There are many valid reasons for banning and I don't consider putting Staff on ignore one of them.

You can ignore staff but then you have those annoying ones that will come to where you on and just bug you asking why they are on ignore -_-

I found a way to ignore staff!


When they PM you tell them to ****.

Keep doing this till you get jailed.

They harrass you. You tell them to ****.

You get banned.

You get their AIMN and tell them to ****, and then have the Global Staff kill him for harrass you and then banneing you.

They get banned, and you tell them...to ****.

but I remember that putting staff on ignore used to be against the rules.... but now I think people don't care anymore

Well you should be able to do it to anyone but manager/admin and any other rank between there.

To quote the Classic rules list...

"If you warn a player for an offence, and they then put you on ignore, then ask them nicely to take you off ignore (using a server message, or asking them in game). If you are unable to contact them, say, you don’t have server strings or something, ask another staff member to message them. If they fail to comply, or ignore the second messenger, then skip straight to the jailing of the offence they committed. "

This particular rule has been in effect since 26th July 2003, and is being appended to say...

"Additionally, if you need to warn a player, who already has you on ignore, the same steps apply."

...at the end.

In the incident with which X-Mann was referring to, This is what happened, although the player was fortunate enough not to be jailed. :)

Further I do not think that the PWA has any say in this. Classic rules rule ;)

Actually, Loriel, Unixmad kept the PWA in place instead of the "council" so they would have a say.

I never tested it but I remember I massed on RC once and someone had me on ignore and there was a reply message saying you've been ignored yada yada yada...if RC overrides the ignore, why did I still get that message? o.O

RC does not in any way, override ignores... They should, but the only way to mesage someone that ignored you is with admin message.

That was not my point - of course there are thing that the PWA handles and I am glad for that, but this? Huh.

Classic does indeed have the best ruleset. (And the best GP's). I work hard to try and maintain the standards of the rules and work of the GP's, continually tweaking the rules to deal with new situations as they arise.

Your are right in the RC does not override any ignores, and it's near impossible to converse over admin mesages. It is for these reasons, the the rule pertaining to ignoring a GP is in place.

actually even though i think the GP made a big mistake, that is the best GP Team, which isnt corrupt. Especailly Era who somehow still has players, but their Police attack you then jail for you fighting back WOW. but yea. there is no rule you can not use your ignore button towards staff. therefore you cant warm someone for ignoring staff. If they are breaking rules you just jail them and said they were warned because they were. its their fault if they ignore you and you jail them for a jailable offense.

Lets just put it this way, if you were all smart enough to realize. It is up the the Manager of the particular playerworld you are on at the time. When I managed Mithica, I disallowed ignoring of staff, and punished those who ignored the staff. But until Spark makes a rule (Which all rules he makes are approved always by Unixmad) it is up to the Manager.

i dont know who Classic's Manager is I only know Kat is the Co Manager...... Yea I work there but I dont know who i work for anymore :p

Tyhm is the manager. And in the instance X-Mann originally was reffering to, the player was not warned for ignoring the staff, just asked not to.
