What is the point of Linux, do you think, if not to provide a reliable, open-source Unixoid environment?

Anyway, the thing's pretty cool, except that there isn't a theme that doesn't look like WindowsXP or MacOS X. Someone should make a window theme that's like RedHat Bluecurve.

I was testing 2.19 out two days before today and it gave me no trouble what so ever. I hope 2.19.1 will be good too!

Nice work on this Stefan. I need to have a small conversation with you about some Development things. If you agree to talk, just reply or pm me. Thanks. Nick.

If this VIP thing is really such a huge problem why not just use a windows emulator and run the windows version?

few questions

- grabbing showcharacter npcs and players is
enabled again, it was disabled before to prevent
harassement, but was problematic for script things
Does that mean we are able to grab players again? I tried grabbing someone, but it didn't work.

Quote:
- there is the new dungeon generator which

I can't find this. Anyone knows if it was left out or am I missing something when downloading?

Now all we need is a Remove Control to go along with this theme. Mabey you can be able to make different skins for the RC, and change the font, and make it more, enjoyable. >=)

Oh, and something that desperatly needs to be added; a massmessage buttion.

Yeah, a mass message button for the client would be good, but then it would probably be abused...oh well, it would be more convienient at any rate.

Install OpenGL. Most gfx cards on Linux require you too install drivers from the producer of the card to enable that (they dont release the drivers as open source so they are not in the Linux distribtutions). If you don't install OpenGL then it will run in software mode which is of course very slow.

Woah. Hold it. Does this mean I can't play the Graal 2.18 servers until they go 2.19 too?

If you are running 2.19/3.0 so its best to keep the old version handy, or wait a few days.

Darn. To late. Anyone got Graal 2.18 in a zip?

Oh and BTW I'm a VIP but since I don't have linux I don't have the benefit of other VIP users? That sort of defeats the whole point of VIP, doesn't it?

No...it just means that you'll have to wait longer for the windows version because it is not finished yet.

And Kronan, you probably don't have 3D Acceleration enabled.

run setup.exe, change your destination folder, click on the install version number till 2.18 shows up and enjoy the benefits of having a installer program

Since I think you said you where on Linux earlier, a .sh file on linux is just like a .bat on Windows, just with Linux any file type can be marked as excutable, just change the permsion of the ile to be excutable, and run it, .sh's arn't a file type you need to have another program to run.

I find the Linux version to be slow in some aspects, the graphics arn't that bad (other than transperency problems with some images), but I find sounds lag several seconds behind. My computer, while not top of the line, should be more than fast enough to run a 2D game (as it runs the free 3D games that came with my distro fast, now that I installed the current official NVidia driver.), it's a 1Ghz, with 384MB of ram, and a 32MB GeForce2.

I also have opengl installed and it seems to go rather slow. i also get an error that i am missing a X library file. it says this "Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0"." .
Does graal require a special X driver ?

That means that you need a DRI driver for your video card. You can either try to find one online, or hope that X supports your card and has DRI for it, but needs to be enabled.

What do you mean with 'will gods be done' ?

Installing drivers can be tricky sometimes on Linux. If it the gfx or sounds are laggy then its not the fault of Graal though. The gfx need a driver that support OpenGL and DRI (kind of Direct3D and DirectX for windows), like other games on Linux. That shouldn't be a problem with Nvidia cards and ATI i think, cards like from SiS are more a problem.

You can add new themes, if you look in the common/ui/themes folder there are gfx and .th files which set the colors of the gui objects. We will soon add scripting functions for using the gui objects with graal script (creating windows, buttons, receiving events when a button is pressed)

I understand that Linux and Mac have not been doen before so 3.0 is being done for them first. But I hope future updates are on the same day. Or windows is done first.
