I honestly only play Graal because it's a cooler version of a chatroom... That and I also am trying to learn things artistically and mathematically through graphic design and programming in Graal. Other than that, I don't see why it would be so hard to stop playing... Especially if I went on a two week vacation to Europe when I decided to quit.

I could go ahead and post the names of afew other awesome/better games like Graal, but whoever wrote the forum rules was smart and outlawed such discussion.

You don't have to post names.

*Any* professional MMO is better than Graal. Because, Graal is very much not a professional game. It's not run like a professional game would be.

The game is 99% player run, and almost entirely player built.

Graal is unique in this sense, and that is why so many people stay here: because they have 'power' on here that they won't find elsewhere online or on any other MMORPG.

Most people don't worry about power or staff jobs on other MMO's. They just play the game, because there is enough to do. Otherwise theyw ould just leave.

I beat you to it Alkaren

But at least we're both in touch with the players

Some people get staff jobs, because they are bored... then they get addicted to it, and think that no-one can do the job as well as they can... then they can't stand to leave, because they think the world will end, and the server will die if they leave (or something like that).

eh, anyone who's addicted to graal, and/or a staff job on graal needs to take a step back, and look at themselves, and realize how pittifull they are... I realized it like 2 years ago, and I litterally cried, because the shock of what I was doing to myself hit me so hard... I was officially clean of graal for like 4 months... (I didn't upgrade my account, and graal was P2P at that point...) but then someone offered to give me a free account, if I became their Events Chief... and I got dragged back in

wish I never accepted that offer... since it just caused bad stuff to happen, and brought me back into graal.

I could think of alot worse things for people to be addicted to...
ETD, that isnt the way it is for everyone, I am addicted to Graal, but not so much the playing end as helping. I like the staff end, but I dont think I am all powerful, and noone is better than me, I just prefer to help instead of play the game.
Graal is my hobby, it doesnt interfere with my real life, so I dont see it as a problem...everyone has hobbies.

yea, but some people take it past the point of just a hobby, and that is when you are addicted, and it causes real problems in real life...

no other rpg's what are free so i'm stuck to this, i wouldn't say i'm addicted, it's my birthday soon (hopefully i'm getting some weights so i'll be pumping iron like scaarub)!
Well i've been addicted for ages, i've known i'm addicted for around 2 years also. At some points I actually wonderd why I just didn't quit...
I don't mind about staff jobs, i'm not really looking for one; i've realised why develop when it's a game?

anyone know any other free rpg games?

Graal to me is a game that I have found to be fun since back when I first started when it was just Graal Classic. I don't know the sense of a similarity between Zelda: A Link to the Past makes me love graal. I mean I don't play Kingdoms because it is not like the game I have played for the past years. Though I am becoming bored now-a-days. I am looking forward to Graal3D in hopes it will shed a whole new light on graal for everyone now and new people to come.

I've quit Graal a few times, but not because the game 'sucks'. If I thought it sucked, I wouldn't be playing. It's not really addicting. I think those who say it suck and continue playing are the same kind of people who go to school and tell people computers are for nerds, then get on it when they get home.

It's not hard to stop playing, it's hard to leave behind all the players you got to know through the game. I don't think graal is a terrible game, I like the gameplay and graphics (at least the non-kingdoms part) and I like the fact that a lot of it is player run. There are no other 2D realtime stand alone online games out there that are quite as developed as graal so there really isn't much alternative. In fact, the reason I started playing graal was because of it's similarity to Zelda 3, and Zelda 3 is also a one of a kind game. I do miss the old 2k1 environment, but I think that what you think is an addiction is really only a destraction from your stressful lifestyle. I have just as much fun playing final fantasy and having AIM on my computer as I do playing graal. Find a hobby, get to work, and you'll find it easier and easier to say no to graal.
