It's not user error related.

Asus motherboards run too much voltage through the chip, creating more heat. They claim they get better performance and that's the reason why.

A number of other motherboards used to do the same crap. That was the problem with buying AMD processors. They DID run hot, and the increased voltage through the chip by the motherboard manufacturers wasn't the only reason.

The latest chips don't run AS hot, but they also don't run as cool as my p4. I am using stock cooling fans and hardware provided by intel, and it's running several degrees less than the professional cooling unit I was using before on my AMD system (water cooling).

Check Asus' a7n8x deluxe board. Even after the revisions, the boards were crap. There's only so much you can do with CMOS revisions on a motherboard. While many will increase performance, the a7n8x for the most part got WORSE.

Also, when going through their RMA system, many people reported getting back motherboards that were in POORER condition than the boards they sent back. I experienced this as well, since my replacement board had a thick layer of dust hair on it. I had to clean it before I could put my other hardware on that board.

Also, there was a specific revision (nothing to do with the CMOS or BIOS, the actual components on the board itself) that didn't have the problems I was experiencing at the time. You had to pray to whatever God you cared about, however, since no one labeled it where you would buy them, and they would randomly give them out through the RMA process.

I've worked with AMD and Intel systems for the past four years. I have never had a problem with an Intel system, AMD on the otherhand.... Don't get me wrong, AMD systems have their place as does Intel. It's just I don't feel like having to scour the globe finding the best motherboard for my AMD processor, then finding it was a scewed review because the reviewers were paid by the manufacturer of the motherboard. I know that an Intel board will always work with an Intel processor, and it will work well. So that puts my mind at ease, and I know I have the support behind my equipment which I didn't find when I went with Asus or AMD as my hardware choice.

But here's the problem...you're taking an example from ONE manufacturer and applying it to all AMD platforms. The voltage problem could be averted by changing the voltage yourself (though I understand that you should not have to do this). I've certainly had none of the problems you speak of with ABIT, ECS, or Aopen boards.

I understand where you are coming from though and am sorry you've had such trouble with AMD/ASUS. I'm just pointing out that it's not that way with everyone and your gripes seem to be more with ASUS than AMD.

Why are we even agrueing about this when all we have to do is create an option to turn the snow flakes off, on the main site and there will be no problems for anyone?

The snowflakes never bother me but half of the time I can't go to graal online in my browser. So I have to open up internet explorer and battle a million popups to get here.

You must be crazy if you think it's logical to have an "On" button to the snowflakes... An "Off" button wouldn't be bad, but I'd rather not have to go through the trouble of having to turn them off. An "On" button would be better... but then nobody would turn them on except for maybe YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Now stop licking my desk lamp and go sit on your head and fart... or something....

Sorry but I fail to see how having an on and off button to the snow flakes on the main site is illlogical and crazy...
