Archaic Test Screenshot.

Here is a screenshot of Archaic...it is a test...isnt done...just showing you guys something to look forward to and get some feedback. So here is it...the GUI, and some other stuff...the GUI gfx are faldurs old shiz, Aether is helping us..Faldur/Andor is no more so yea. The stuff in the GUI/bodies is rough stuff, isnt done, or anything like that.

The tileset looks beautiful. The GUI looks too fat.

Yea, the gui is being edited, we have had like three different ones in the last 5 days...Kai, would you mind helping Ning with the system? Like maybe show him some stuff, he is a GREAT scripter, but he has SOOO much to do.

Damn, thats very nice.

It looks very smooth, alot of detail put into the color and overall appeal of the tiles.

I'd like to see some transparency on the mini-map. As thats a bit too big. But otherwise, its VERY good.

It's nice and all.. but i'm not really fond of the tileset.. it looks WAY to realistic.. like filtered or something.... otherwise its good...

The fairy is way out of hand.. it doesn't match the tileset nor the gui.. gui is pretty cool though, some more design wouldn't hurt.

And what the? If i aint wrong, isn't that GK bodies?

AWSOME work on Tileset, it's just gorgeus (GAR Where is Kaimetsu when you need him? How do I spell that?)!

GUI However should stay in one style, so I say you should remake 2 of the right windows to be like the 2 on the left.. *drools* wood... Or remake 2 on the left to be like 2 on the right. Well you get the idea.

Also put a frame around the mini map 0.o.

Otherwise I have no complaints, can I play?

Me and Bloo were talking...when we have somehting almost done, we will allow a few people as testers, thats the soonest it will be available. I knew that Tyrial would have something bad to say about the GFX, I try very hard to be nice to this kid but jesus christ its impossible. Tyrial, we have our own unthieved original gfx thank you.

Anyway, yea, I'll let a few of you in early once it is up and rolling. The tileset for outside levels is gonna be hot, were gonna have numerous tilesets for the outside.

We are in need of a good GAT though, to do ganis.

No, Aether and Symbonia were working together..Symbonia dropped Andor and Aether wanted to work for Archaic, he brought his GUI with him.

So that's where are damn gui went.. and no Andor is not gone, me, rose, amy, and a whole bunch of other people still work on it and we would have alot more done if Symb didn't take everything..
One of the best tilesets.
Of course the best gui.
And pretty enchanted fairy princess Knightress o.o

i have seen much better gui's; bloo might want to make a new one...so yea, if he does than if aether is game you guys can use it

Making another GUI is fine, it's well worth the effort considering its what the player see's all the time. Anyway, I just need to replace the gfx names and change the co-ordinates - shouldn't take that long.

And yes, the System is in development... The super...system

(Battle System Basically)

This is the 1st time I seen the new tileset... I have to say I'd never imagined it could be that good, it's just taken graal to another level.

No, it is moreless an all around RPing server, Dwarfs, Fairys, Elves, Humans, Mages, Priests(light and dark) and some other stuff, this is just off the top of my head, nothing has been carved in stone yet

edit: Oh yea.. not to take sides but, I think Archaic is going to give Oasis a run for its money.. Although not much of Oasis has been shown. So far what anU has shown us has been great.

I think the tileset is very impressive, and greatly detailed. I would like to know whether it was made pixel for pixel or using filters, and how many colours your average tile uses.
I think the GUI thingie on the top left side looks pretty spiffy, the colours are great and it has nice details. But I have to agree with Kaimetsu (brr

) that it looks too flat. The thingies on the right side are not all that great, I think, although the borders are nicely done.

I am looking forward to see whether you'll manage to have character animations that look smoth and still fit to the details of the tiles.

I hate to be a pest, but as was mentioned earlier, some of those do look a bit out of place. The columns look like they were resampled since they don't blend well with the rest of the tiles. I get the impression its from Secret of Mana, but maybe I'm just looking at it too hard

Read the first post and read the title of this thread, see TEST anywhere in the first post or the title of the thread? Secret of Mana, never played it. The tileset is NOT finished and is still being worked on. I will post a screenshot of the outside tiles soon, bloo is working very dilligently(sp mostlikely) on them.

The tileset I was greatly inspired by, by Secret of Mana, so the server is gonna have that look/feel to it.. Working on updating that screen shot right now... Got doors done and I'm working on the candles

And to answer the previous questions, No filters used... I started with a basic pixel outline, then smoothed it, resized it (Bigger) then airbrushed it over about 20 times, fine-tuning it

If you'd stop and pay attention you would also be aware of the fact that I'm rather good at pointing out these things. If I have to follow the rules of not using copyrighted graphics, then so must everyone else. And I do my part by inspecting images posted here. I do it of my own volition and am in no way affiliated directly with GO except through my playerworld. I didn't say they were ripped, just that they looked resampled as if taken from a game.

Where is Kaimetsu's posting flow chart when you need it?

Heh. I wasn't too far off the mark :] I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd say something. It still looks a bit off, but otherwise, excellent job.
