I was just thinking about houses and if any of you have played harvest moon Back To nature or the N64 one, i think that the house system is very well done ^-^...so that might be a cool idea to have expansions that would be a certain ammount of logs, stones etc.
Also i think that it should be an option when you build the house to pay an extra ammount for different tiles on the house. Another nice option when you build your house (for samurai and hopefully in the future for all buildings) to choose your roof color (or for forest tree type?). Also when you start perhaps get an option to build a foundation (which would cost much more stone) so you can have a storage cellar leading in from the house?
I was also thinking about having lot sizes....you could just buy a lot that is ---- big and then you have that much building space.
So the lots could be: 8x8, 16x16, 24x24, 32x32...1=4x4 pissco tile's. 8x8 would be just enough for a house no expansions (cept basement)...etc. etc.
The different expansions could be: Bathroom, Library, Kitchen/Dining room, Deluxe Kitchen/Dining Room, Cellar, Bedroom for 2, Grand Bedroom for 2, Misc. room small/med./large
A note with the bathroom: Over time you start to get dirt on you lowering your charm, in order to restore this you have to /sit in shallow fresh water and your charm restores slowly...and if you go in salt water it slowly declines (1 point per 10 mins) i dont know the rate altogether though...but anyways a bathroom would have a tub and midevil(sp?) toilet...the bath would speed up charm recovery and add a temporary bonus of 1-3 points depending on your max charm (can never go above 20)...The toilet would just be for looks.
I also think house rotting could be slowed down to 1.5% per day, the rate that it goes is wicked bad...Also for each number divisable by 10 it adds extra images that look like the house is getting run down...Also maybe you could hire NPC's to restore your house at a regular basis...There would be 3 options: Cover all materials-no cost, cover some materials-50% of materials=cost, no materials-auto restores to 100% but costs 5x the materials used |
