Weapon Idea: Bomy Shell Smasher

As we all know bomies have that stupid little shell thing shich should only protect against ARROWs and FIREBALLs...

So why not have a hammer which would break the bomy's shell (not really break but damage the bomy).

It could have a price if you wanted it to.

Humans shouldn't have to get another item just so they can hurt a bomy -_-

I could understand fists not hurting the shell but at least the sword should.

They should just have a number of hits where the shell doesnt work. Or it does less damage when they have the shell on.

But if they didnt want to do that then yeah.. thats a good idea.

Well see...

Bomies can dictate when they want to attack, which is how wars are won.

Humans dont have a shell or a shield, so we cant dictate when we want to attack and defend ourself.

And dont go 'Oh bomies have pause so what's the differnce?' The differnce is in spars and in RP events.

Negative...

But I can just see that RP Battle... all the Bomies are cowarding under their shells.

If you truly want to balance 2k1 then you'll rather take away the bomy shelling effect or give humans a shelling effect.

We've lost our attacking edge, which was a good thing as it was incredibly high. We can't move diagonally, so we move (in essence) twice as slow as humans. Now you want us to lose the shells, to make us defenceless.
Wow, being slow, weak, and defenceless is so very equalized.

By attacking edge are you talking about when you guys did 40 damage a hit and could hit us like 5 times in a second?

Bomys are really good for attacking and sparring x.x

Maybe you are just bad. :-[

Yes, I was referring to that. The cool down period after attacking has been re-added thanks to Loriel, and I do thank him.
It is a severe handicap that we cannot move diagonally (unless in water and on skis) and add to that the fact we spin away when hit, and a human fighter can easily take out a bomy if they have any sort of skill.
I'm not a bad fighter at all, I'm just pointing out our diminishing capabilities. It is true that bomys are neglected, or have been. Compare jobs for example.
There are 2 bomy-only jobs, when there are about four human-only jobs. I'm not comparing money here, I'm comparing choice.

A bomy with any sort of skill could take out a human fighter. Protaganist can beat me. Googi can too.

Bomys actually have 3 jobs to choose from. since they can farm too. It doesnt really matter if its bomy only or not as long as you have it.

Well, let's compare jobs then, shall we?
Bomy-only:
Pearl Diving
Bird Catching

Human-only:
Fishing
Bread Making
Pie Making
Mining
+Crafting
Mushroom Picking

Bomy+Human:
Farming
Snowcone Making

That leaves Bomys with 4 jobs to choose, and humans with 7. Note that it is probable that I forgot a job in the Bomy+Human section.

But then there are around the same amount of actual good jobs. Since not many humans actually would want to bake bread or get mushrooms for money.

Humans basically only choose: Mining, Farming, or fishing.
Bomys: Pearl Diving, Farming, or Bird Catching.

Its pretty equal for money making.

I do think though that Bomys should most definitley be able to have hats.

Money making? Yes
Choice? No

As I said, I'm getting at choice. You could have a million different jobs for one race, and one for the other. Provided the payout was the same, it's pretty even on that matter. However, it still shows one is neglected.

Yours is wrong... Bomies are invincible after they're knocked back. And you put Yes (With Pets)... that shouldn't be in.

AND OMG... MUSHROOM PICKING. Yeah that gives like 2g an hour. That's Seriously a perk.

Humans get the bomy's speed in water with a Bomy pet. Or, at least they did.

Bomys are invincible while they are being knocked back. However, after they stand up, they are vulnerable again. Humans have about a second of invulnerability after they're hit - this can mean all the difference.

choice doesnt really matter if the choices suck. Would you be happy if they added like 3 new jobs that were like bread baking and gave you 1g every 2 minutes? no because noone would use that anyway.

And humans dont get a second of invulnerability after getting hit. Thats how you do combos. you hit them, and then as they are going back you can hit them again.

and the list you made is bad.

Alright then. Change it so humans have 15/19 instead of 16. The fact remains that there are 7 things humans have that bomys don't.

I keep going on about choice. I honestly don't care if the payout is bad - I just want something to do. How long do you think you could spin in the air, or kick a clam without getting bored? There is choice for humans, regardless of the payout.
I see humans baking pies. I see humans baking bread. I see humans fishing. I've seen humans less now, mining (but I still do see it). I see humans mushroom picking.
I see bomys pearl diving. I see bomys snowcone making.

Wow. Difference.

So you want to have the choice to do more work for less money. And trust me, the humans you see bread baking, and mushroom picking, dont want to and are not having fun.

I would rather have pearl diving. Its a lot less work. You just have to sit there.

Oh i made a sw33t chart too. But it wont upload it or something

Solution = shell HP :O
The shell HP should recharge a little every 10 seconds, once it gets to zero the bomy is stunned ;o

The whole point of my posts were to show that Bomys have diminishing options and choices, and I believe I have done well to prove that.

That's a good idea. I don't support the fact that we can sit under our shells indefinitely, nor the idea of being able to go right past them.
That's something I wouldn't mind seeing, but before we do that, we need to eliminate the fact that you can repeatedly slash a bomy that is hiding.

yeah. i was trying to upload my chart but it didnt work.

The fact that a hit registers every time you slash, and if the shell HP was implemented, it would lost HP every 0.3 seconds, because there isn't a cooldown period when hiding - therefore rendering the shell useless within about 2 seconds.

Nothin wrong with 2 seconds of invulnerability.

Would you like to have to share a farming spot with 10 other people? More jobs means less overcrowding. Last time I went pearl diving (awhile back) there were 8 bomys sharing 5 shells... I fail to see how this is better than baking bread.

No. I've been trapped between two slashing humans many times, boucing back and forth between them (in CS usually) and taking damage. So much for invincibility.

Sure, bomys can hide under a shell. This stops them completely from moving, and immunity from NPC weapons. Though you still take damage from a sword, just takes many more hits to do damage, and the moment you get out of your shell you're bouncing around, helpless.

Also when you have 100ap, a human can sit around and not go anywhere when hit by a kick/sword. A bomy though, will spin away, which gets really annoying after awhile. Also when I'm sitting in a no PK area, a bomy can walk up, kick me, and I'll go spinning away.

Would you like to have to share a farming spot with 10 other people? More jobs means less overcrowding. Last time I went pearl diving (awhile back) there were 8 bomys sharing 5 shells... I fail to see how this is better than baking bread.

Sharing farming spots rocks. People help you water your trees faster.

And bomys sharing shells, thats probably because most bomys dont know there is more than one place to pearl dive. its a whole lot better than baking bread.

I've been around. There are about two or three others at each spot, and as was said, about 8 at the area where you get the boots.

Same idea except without being helped.

No :| I mean pearl diving is like sharing a farm without the help, and usually stealing.

You obviously haven't been Pearl Diving anytime lately. Two or thee people PER SPOT is not a GOOD thing. It reduces what you get by on half, or one THIRD. It is hard enough to get money now with white pearls being 1g for 7, black 1 for 4, and pink 1 for 2.
The chance of getting these at any decent rate is if the other people aren't at their computers. Go pearl diving before you say it is oh-so-good again.
