My thoughts on this reset buisness.

Well, everyone is saying when Kingdoms is really done there is going to be a reset or something.. i find that un-needed:
1.Us players work hard on kingdoms getting up our stats.
2.Kingdoms already has lots of stuff so you really should not say it's "unfinished" i mean it's finished it's out... but yea stefan still updates it.
3.So what? people have more money and stats then others and they whine? People on Kingdoms will always be better then some people.. that's like someone new coming to the game "OMI HE HAS STATS HIGHER THEN MINE I'M GOIGN TO MAKE DIS GAME RESET LWEL!!!!"

There are no "money" hacks or anything.. sure people scam but everygame has scammers. no need to reset over it.

Graal Kingdoms will never be reset no matter how much we hope. When Stefan is ready to release the "final" version there will be a new Graal Kingdoms and whomever wants to play that server can. The old one will no longer be updated.

Weren't there several bugs in earlier stages that gave unfair equipment/etc though?

A reset wouldn't work at all.
The problems will only repeat themselves, and make more people bicker.

This is the problem with online RPGs, some will start earlier then others, and thus, be stronger.

Newbies keep whining but most of the ones who are strong now also endured the same things...

I asked Stefan about that "final" version business before, and he didn't really give me a straight answer. It was more like a "Let's wait and see if we really need one" type of answer. But then again...sometimes there's more to a situation than they'll say, I guess?

And also, this thread was pointless. Deman could have responded to the other one instead -_- But to respond to those comments..

1. If you feel you "worked" hard for your items, maybe you need to find something else to call a "game" since you seem to see GK as more of a job than fun
2. Lots of stuff doesn't mean it's finished. "Stuff" is actually the problem. It could use less "Stuff" to be better (alchemy items and other items which were good, and cant be created anymore should either be able to produce or removed...and much more than this should be done [thus,a reset]...BTW, I WOULD prefer if we could have them all together, but just have them more availible).
3. In most,if not every RPG, when you come to it, there's the advantage the player who's been playing since day 1 (or even minute 1) has over newer players. That advantage is that he had more of an opportunity to be the best player. This is because...in theory, if I come a month later to GK than another player, and we both play equal amount of time per week, and we do the same things, that other player will ALWAYS have that advantage of exp, item collection, etc. This is something we have to accept in most games. The problem here is that GK adds more problems like this. Old players can have their items (the no longer producable ones, especially alchemy and flaming ice daggers) which don't have to be worked as hard to get as newer players have to work to get them. These items don't include gift shop items BTW (as long as those come back on the next holidays....mostly wizard hats...and probably belts)

If the item was just "cool", you would have a good point there. The items are what cause an unbalancing issue. I'll let you figure out why.

Not really. It's all a matter of your point of view and opinion. You can also say "Wahaha, I can level up easily in melee because I have a good set of items I only had to spend a few hundred plat on, and you have to spend tens of thousands on AND find someone willing to sell it (and if you don't find someone, have LOTS of money or REALLY good items to get them to want to sell) if you want to have any chance at fighting like I do, otherwise I'll be a god because I was at the right place at the right time"

The server is considered to be in alpha mode (the servername was Graal 2002 Alpha before it was changed to graal kingdoms, but on graal.net it says the server is in alpha/beta I believe), and I wish people would stop using the term 'finished', a game is never finished (at least, most MMORPG's aren't, they are usually updated constantly)

Here's the thing.

1)Old players may have taken advantage of things that new players don't get to take advantage of. This is discouraging as older players may not have worked as hard as newer ones.
2)Of course to make everything fair the only way to do it is reset kingdoms when the primary major bugs are fixed. It's the right thing to do.
3)Yeah, old players will lose their stuff. That does suck, but those players should realize that if you play a game in it's alpha stage then there is a high probability it will be reset.

1. No, I've played for a long long time... back several months before dungeons I ran around for weeks and weeks killing rabbits, battle potatos and etc to level 6... then HH's came out and I spent several weeks there to level to 13... then HH2 (lev 14) Underground Labrynth (still 14)... then it wasn't until the maps then I started to be able to level up higher... the point? Older players had it much harder and longer than new players... Have you ever ran around fighting and leveling with unprepped unblessed weapons? in the HH? how about prepped with 1 slot? And there were not many people who knew what stats did either back then...

2. Sure it's the right thing... But it's a discouragement for those who want to keep old ways... think this... for example... you just got a Legendary Artifact sword... Durphire... awsome stats such as 50% chance of instant kill... then a reset is announced... wouldn't you want to keep it if 100 people participated in a 2 week event for it and only you got it?

3. Ya.

First of all, this time period you played in is older than what is being referred to. Furthermore, at that time, GK even said it was alpha in the title...

One of the time periods in question is the one where players could get alchemy items easily. As I already said, by spending around 1k at the time, you could get what is now an awesome set of items (price increased greatly; inflation + becoming rare = high value) and run around with your great armour, helm, gloves, etc and gain easy EXP. Now players can only obtain armors that slow you down, not so good helms (basically anything that has an image to it sucks...), and this makes them levle up MUCH slower. Compared to them, the person who only had to spend a few hundred plats (or what is probably now equivilant to 1-3k because of inflation...while the value of the set would be as high as over 100k since the price depends on how badly each player likes it[buyer and seller]) on an alchemy set is a god. See the problem?

i think there should be a reset if they-stefan and uni- allow us to pick up to a full set of items-helm shield weapon armor gloves and bracers and boots- as long as they arent "RARE" and dont sell for anything

It's better to not have them at all them have too many of them. Items should either start off as rare or never turn rare at all.

I tried to pretend that (he/she?) didn't post that, but then I started wondering who did, and I eventually had to admit to myself that it was, in fact, (him/her?).
