Many games use ancient mythological creatures. I've actually heard that the strongest creature on the game are titans, (even if they're never realased) which are some king of God in Roman or Greek mythology.
actually Titan's were the cousin's of the gods and the Hundred Handed Ones, and Cyclops were there children
