Aslo um...Kai, I think the problem with one word names is that it usually represents being OOC because it doesn't show what exactly you're rping as =/ No rank to show what exactly you're suppose to be, can't tell if it's the family you belong to or just your first name, no tag (not always) to show what kingdom you represent and with the tag you should have some type of RP story that says why you don't have or don't know your last name.

Meaningless reason. All that you need to show that you're in-character is to wear your tag.

Exactly. Silly rules like that prevent people from enjoyable roleplaying. They should spend less time worrying about people having a first and last name, and more time worrying about people actually roleplaying.

Why i don't role-play? same reason as geno. If i bother to be on battlemode to get extra exp so i can bless more then i get pked. But dustari has major issues aside from tseng in my knowledge. I mean, come on, Techumseh removed himself from dustari because he couldn't kill me since i was in Forest, an ally nation. So he removes himself just for the purpose of pking, how loyal huh? how insightful to help rp and show how well Dustari is supposivly the RP kingdom? :/ my ass, then he gets re-added later very easily despite his un-loyal factors. What needs to be done, is tho i am agreeing with some of the people who are leaders of nations now, most of the kingdoms need to just be whiped, and re-organized. I don't care about other peoples opinions on it either, it just needs to be plainly that if you want to even begin to fix things, just rping won't help. You'll always have people join kingdoms with inappropriate names. People who are given high ranks of power just because they are friends of the king/aran/dictator/Governor..... it just goes in a cycle...... if you wana fix it so badly do something aside from whining about it.

I agree with that... the battlemode crap is annoying. People with high levels kill people with low levels... While in battlemode most of the PM's I got was "OWNED!". Kingdoms is a fun server but the RPing sucks because people are stupid and sometimes it sucks to just play there.

I'm in samurai and never roleplay because..erm...noone in samurai even knows the meaning of roleplaying x_X
people start guild messaging things like "WOA, my AC is 1337, I bet it's the highest in samurai" and "I owned some **** in Bmode a minute ago XP", so there is no point in even trying. Come to think of it, I dont know that I have ever seen anyone in samurai roleplay at all, unless its just something like "*bows*" or something simple like that.

Back it up? Do you mean give an example or reason as to why I would say that? That is ridiculous. I don't need to get in detail on a list that I use to decide which kingdom to be in favor of. Short notes are enough to make me remember things. However, I'll take it into consideration. I may forget why exactly I said that if I begin to experience great stress.

Untill then, I need not "back it up", my memory will serve me right.

And Kaimetsu, if players have good RP reasons for having only one-word names, you're right,it should be fine. Examples would be: coming from a culture where people only have one-word names, being abandoned as an infant and not knowing his/her real name thus taking upon a short alias or new name, having a very powerfull character that happens to be like a Demon or a God-like figure, and many other reasons.

The problem lies in a situation such as...If Dustari decides that it's normal for people to have a first and last name if they are FROM Dustari, and people who did not migrate to Dustari use one-word names while living common Dustarian lives. There's no reason to that.

o_O I can honestly say I dont ever remember seeing that, ever. The majority of the time I spend online, I am idling, not even looking at the main window, I have playerlist window open and I'm reading toguilds or pms or sending them. For the last week or so, every time I've logged on I've been standing in the same general area as I've been standing in since the beginning of that 7 day period.

Sorry, but I feel the screenshot is taken out of context. Plus talking like that is still Okay if your standing with your friend just chatting not so much in public. You should have taken a screenshot of one of my encounters with Dustarian Royalty.

And Ghost Pirate's point is very valid. Not having rules for RP names can lead to people having names which are deffinately not very immersive in the desired roleplaying enviornment...and only detracts.

I used to allow people to have one word names as long as they had an explaination as to why that made sense. Maybe some of you might remember General Thanatos, thats my best example. I allowed this for a long time, however it just made things more difficult when trying to enforce having a 2 word name with other members, because they would always say "well he has 1 name so why cant I" and would want to use something not acceptable and well, dumb sounding. So I just found it was alot easier to not allow for exceptions across the board.
