Ship Improvments

There should be a type of ship that can not be sailed by anyone else, but has the option of allowing other people to ride. Now this can take longer to degrade or just keep it the same. I've had one to many ships stolen from me, and im getting tired of making more.

Possibly, everyone only gets a certain amount of these ships, maybe even one, that they must use until it is degraded. This will make the ability to repair ships much more sensible. I dont know just a thought!

And one other thing about ships, make them so they dont sit on top of docks. People tend to do this making everyone not to catch ferrys ;p.

I think there might be a smaller type without a cargo hold (or just a small one) which you can peg somewhere near the beach, just as a private ferry. Only the owner can enter whenever he wants, others can only get aboard when the owner opens the gate, and only he can controle it. There should be special areas where you can peg it, to keep the beach from getting overcrowded (say near towns). These boats decay at some rate, so you have to repair them, but that shouldn't be a problem as you can keep boards in the cargo hold. There also should be the possibility to get off the boat whenever it's pegged somewhere, not limiting it to docks - hence allowing players to enter an island from where they are not expected...

That was more or less my idea..maybe a smaller cargo hold that only the owner can enter..putting a limit on the boats a player can have of course, due to those over joyful boat builders. You know who you are! ^.~

Just make a small canoe-type boat that you can pick up and carry with you, then you have all the boat you'll ever need and don't have to worry about other people taking it, or you could peg it, and only the owned could get in unless otherwise specified.

A pickable boat sounds like a good idea - maybe make it for 2 persons only. It should also be limited to 1 per person. So the big boats would be for larger groups, navy etc.

How exactly are you going to fit a canoe in your pants?

If anything players should beable to make a 1 or 2 man canoe using just a log (which is another thing I don't understand how people get into their pants) on the boat builder place of course you have to pick it up via carrying over head and ploping it down into the water, then you need oars I suppose
propbably can craft those and somehow stick them into your overfilled pants full of swords, logs, books, wands, armours, and god knows what else. and jump in the canoe and sail off.

Of course a conoe will fit, I mean you can fit a bed or two, a table, lots of T-Rex legs (those must be huge), as well as mine carts, etc.

but then of course that person cannot fight unless they drop it, then they can have it stolen......................gah x.x

It's a fantasy game anything can happen, how do you carry large laterns in your pocket? or 150 boards or 90 stones? how do you carry tons of weapons in your pocket? how do you put a warhammer in your pocket? Of course i am overreacting seeing as how this comment is coming from you Ghost Pirate. And when playing RPG games putting it in an endless pocket or sack of holding is sensible seeing as how those are in most rp games. but w/o it it is uncanny yes, but then again, it's a fantasy game, **** happens that isn't real because its fantasy made up, a game. If you wanted this game to be so realistic you might as well dress up like your character and walk around with a plastic axe slashing things. Games are meant to detach themselves from a real world and i don't know why people like you insist on games being purely realistic.

Well, its a server full of magical stuff. Like the flame sword, why doesnt it burn you when you put it away? And why doesnt it ever go out? lol. Also about ships, if people cant steal ships there would be loads of ships everywhere. Instead of going out and stealing one you would have to make one your self, witch causes more ships lol.
