Shield Size

How can you make a shield that is larger than the average template? For example, if you play on Era you know there is a blookat-novaswings3.gif shield (in webgifs folder) that is much larger than the average shield, yet it still fits well on the player (appears like Enigma wings on player). Is there some kind of formula that determines where the shield is placed no matter how big the image of the shield?

.. I'll post the shield on an attachment. It fits perfectly to the player, but look at the size of the image... Sorry for not doin this last post.

They probably use modified idle state GANIs which have redone shield work.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but im 99 percent sure that its not even that complex. There are two shield sizes. If you look in your shields folder there should be a "bigshield" graphic. It looks like the shield1 graphic but bigger. Anyways these wings are probably just an edit of that. Whoa I cant believe I remembered that lol, I havent played classic or any other server in a looong time lol.

I think that's too big. You oughta know that the normal shields have a lot of space between eachother

There we put in the rest for the bigger shields. But, i think this is way to big for a shield

come to think of it you are right, bigshield.png is only 76 pixels by 4o pixels. Oh well

For once i thought I had the right answer lol. hehehe.

Yes, you just have to put the wings into the gani, possibly using params or attribs to edit the wings or take them out if you'd like.

Bloo is working on Archaic...we are doing this project together, that is why you see such pwn gfx, like the gui and what not.

I thought both shield sizes work globaly with the same gani. Judging from the way the super big shields are spaced, I dont think it requires new ganis to be made. I think that any shield size will technically work, and when you set a shield image for the player, the game automatically totals pixels horizontally and divides them into 4 sections, proportional to how the regular small shields are..and then automatically centers them on the player. Only 2 specific shield sizes were accepted for global uploading to avoid abuse of this hard-coded attribute of Graal, possibly?

I mean, jeez look at the completely wasteful amounts of spacing between each sprite. Wouldnt make sense to do that if you just made gani replacements.
