When 3.0 is released, it should be very near that time.

Graal 3d better be good because if its not and 2k1 is going classic then I see no reason to re upgrade to gold.

I will check it out. A 3d version of graal would change graal forever. It would also make playerworld hosting much more competitive, because the managers would have to keep up with a 3d tileset to attract players. I for one, might concider changing alot of things on my server, when graal 3d comes out.

I dont think 3D is a tileset as such, besides, I doubt any PW is really competing with the gold servers, doing so is slightly pointless.

True, but when they start losing their players to the gold servers they might concider it.

Possibly, although a majority of players have just classic, or gold for forums.

Seems that many of you forget that Graal 3D is not its own server or anything. It's simply an addition to the 2D Kingdoms as they are now. Graal 3.0 fully supports the 3D stuff that will be added. It just needs to have that stuff added to it.

Graal 3D will probably be the one thing that decides if I re-upgrade or not

I know it's an addition to the 2D graal Kingdoms, but I'm looking for something new too. I don't really want to play 2d kingdoms and go through all that strenuous work JUST to have a mildly pleasant experience playing the 3D mode.

You should re-upgrade anyway, your cool. And yes although 3D is an add-on to 2D, the stats shouldn't be linked etc...

Lightbulb

Graal 3d is using the same game engine as Tribes, because remember Unixmad saying they bought the licence to the Tribes gaming engine since it would save them time and money to create another gaming engine like it.
I pretty much doubt that playerworld will be allowed to use this gaming engine, and I don’t believe it needs a tile set as some person had suggested.

So this means that Graal 3D comes out very soon? (2 to 3 months)

I don't want to be bashing Graal, but they really messed up.

Back in November, we were shown these screenshots and they looked really good. Unixmad said shortly after the new year Graal 3D will be released to VIP players, so lots of people upgraded specifically for that. Now, unless you're oblivious to time then it doesn't take a genius that 'shortly after the new year' has passed quite some time ago, and now we're into mid-June, without as much as an updated screenshot or word from Unixmad about the status of what could have been the greatest thing Graal has seen. Instead, we're all geared on making Graal for obsolete or non-mainstream operating systems that really don't even target 95% of the Graalian audience.

Let's see some Graal3D ok?

No, Graal 3D is using the same game engine as Tribes 2. There's a big difference. Tribes' engine was good, but Tribes 2's engine was horribly laggy and badly built.

I may upgrade to VIP to try it out, but if it's any laggier than any of the Graal servers now, I will not upgrade afterwards.

Aftershock has a point. I think Unixmad has trouble keeping his release dates... Sort of like Nintendo... ;x
