Lightbulb Pull Down Menus???

i like the current graal scripting system but i think it would be better to have pull down menus like on macromedia flash mx,
it would be more orginized and you would get done with scripts faster

what i am trying to say....

the commands (i.e.playertouchsme,playerendsreading,set,unset)
would be in a pull down menu kind like on macromedia flash mx ,
its easy and more efficent if you dont know what it looks like on flash mx ill post a pic.

Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
It woudl be good yes, so certian commands are in one part, easier to see them all. But it would only be good if you can switch between expert and normal mode. Or atleast make it so its always expert, but you can add bits in like that:

screen-shot of mine shows how its all catagorised, p.s: 5 owns MX.

That little menu on the left of the screenshot. You go through, find what you're looking for, double click it to add it to the script, then you can select it in the script & change parameters. Its extremely slow to do.

Sounds horrible.

But everybody, the editor is going to be entirely scripted at some point in the future. You'll be able to add this stuff for yourself.

We get access to the editor's source code?

No. By my understanding, the whole GUI is going to be script-based.

That would be bad, it's incredibly inefficient to have to go through menus to find commands. It would be much faster in the long run if you just learn the commands.

All we really need is a "complete" refrence guide to "every" command.

Yeah. I think Jagen posted a good one awhile ago.

Personally, I would like to add it to stefan's project list. I know he's busy, but having a complete reference is important. I know he posted a complete list a while ago, but it's prabably out of date, and I'd hardly call that a complete refrence, considering there weren't any usage examples.

Kaimetsu they mean something like on the right side of the Graal scripting window I think, the list of commands. Having that available while scripting can be quite handy if you forgot what the exact name of a command was or so. In some IDEs you have tree view help thing containing the functions, operators etc. It should be possible to do that with the new scripting engine.
There will be scripting functions for retrieving the script of an npc and updating it, of course checking if the player has the right to view and update it. Then the script only needs to open a window, add a multiline-edit field, and buttons for 'send' and 'close' or so. Then on the left side we can also insert a tree view with the functions and operators and such things :-)

It is alot easier to just type out the commands rather than scroll through drop down menus each time.

It'd be nice to see that if you had rights for a level you could work on it online (and hopefully it would save a backup for saftey's sake)... just editing tiles/npcs directly in the window and having like an update button or what not
