What program? Aim , ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messager ? I don't accept things from people I don't know but what chat he uses would be useful.

Maybe so but at what expense since it seems you didn't know they were there? Kinda makes you wonder what was already taken off your comp you don't even know about. First thing I would do is get a better virus program and get a firewall. Second thing I would do is start changing all the passwords to all accounts I have, they may already be compromised.

The trojan i had , the first thing it did was disable my virus program and firewall, so i knew something was wrong.
After we went into safe mode and enabled the virus program, and quarantined the virus, i got back online and changed all my passes to be safe.
(It was one of those that attaches to emails , hence it came from a co worker of mine, so i warned anyone on my email list, i dont recieve anything over aim)

I think it is more like crap being sent to them thru a chat program then downloading something on a site. Most common way is it being embedded in a exe file masked as something its not , like a screensaver and such. Kazza is infested with files like this , if you are going to use a "sharing program " like this I suggest using imesh instead because at least you can set it to scan any file with your virus program that is downloaded unlike Kazza which doesn't. My daughter has gotten 13 Trojans and virus like this using Kazza and I forbid her to use that program again because of it.

Birdo was pointing out the irony in that statement. You were questioning whether the person thought you were stupid, and ended up misspelling "stupid".

I have Graal files for the players if they want them on the Npulse website, btw just because they are on the Graal site is no guarantee you won't get a virus, the Graal website has been hacked before. Who is to say someone can't hack into it and add a virus to one of the Graal files? Just because it hasn't been done yet doesn't mean it cannot be done. If a person is talented enough they can get into any website and do pretty much what they want IF they have the knowledge and talent. But someone who has that kind of talent won't waste it on Graal I believe; because they would use it to crack banks online or something that will make them money, Graal won't do that for them.

Because it is neccesary to play Graal to download files from the Graal website, obviously. So you can't really avoid downloading stuff of the Graal website.

Also, no offense, but I'd place my bet on Graal's website security more than your website security since the people who made it make a living off of it. Third party sites are easier to hack, like Timemutt's was.

I have a eCommerce site , it is not a freebie or a cheap site and no one made it other than myself , the site files you see now are made by a Staff member who has very limited access to the site. In fact she does not have access to the main site files; only I have access to those. Like I said the Npulse site is not a 3rd party site and there is security safegards on the site. My site is no different from Graals site here , only difference is the content.

added thought:
I also OWN the site , I don't rent or lease or any of that . I bought and paid for the space on the server and it belongs to me to do whatever I want to do with it, within legal limitations of course. There was a security leak in the Forum which like here was hacked into but they never have been able to get inside the main site files. The security problem like here has long been fixed, unlike here no real damage was done , it was just annoying. There are multi-levels of password on my site , every part of the site is password protected with different passwords. People can only access what I want accessed nothing else. Even if someone gains access to the public files they still have to go thru another set of passwords to access another part of the site , like the database files. Nothing is fool proof and everything can be hacked into if the person is talented enough and has the knowedge but for the average Graal player they will not get into my site files.

Viruses are bad.
Trojans are bad.
Millions of innocent people get a malicious computer program on thier computers every day.

And half of those people do not know about it.
Stay safe.
Stay smart.

Buy Norton Anti-Virus Today!

Now only, buy a Norton Anti-Virus kit and get a brain telling you to buy Norton Internet Security!

Waste more money!
But be safe!

Paid advertisment from the *****s who like to send out viruses.

I use Noton Antivirus and Norton Personal Firewall, and they don't take over your computer. Unless you are totaly ignorant on how set-up a firewall and antivirus.

Shut up.

Have you ever used Norton Utilities?
I installed Norton Utilities and tried to remove it, and my computer wouldn't start. I ended up formatting.

McAfee is better.

Sorry I happen to agree with the latter post, 2 years ago I used to use McAfee but since it kept letting virus on my comp I went to Norton Professional and the Norton Firewall since then I haven't any problems from "uncaught virus". If you had a problem uninstalling it then you had a problem on your comp not the anti-virus program.

Maybe so, whatever. I know what it did to mine, each computer is different, blah blah.

I like my solution of not downloading things at all, and if you do it being worth the risk.

This of course is up to you and I find no fault in your logic but as for me; just living is a risk so I will take the necessary precautions and continue without fear of what could be.
