Post There's nothing good about good-bye.

Well. Go to the bottom if you want the summation.

Unless I get restored to where I was, I'm quitting Graal Kingdoms.

I'm not going to babble.

I switched to Govannon to make money more easily by enchanting diamond blades to +3 and selling them for 1000+ plats. I was level 13 in wisdom, with around 2,100,000 experience in it. I followed Brigid. I switched, and lost 1,200,000 experience.

That may be nothing to some of you out there, but I'm a Mage, a magic-user, a Sorcerer - in other words I don't use weapons. So it's not so easy for me.

I switched back to Brigid. Why, well, I was already screwed. Didn't care. So overall, after that, I went from

2,100,000

to

310,000.

If that's not insane then I am.

So here is my request. Restore me to where I was. I restarted, so, no, I can't do it myself. I restarted for this reason, because I think this is a load of [expletive deleted].

Summation for those who do not enjoy reading:
I know this is simple. Just restore me to before I restarted, then change the amount of wisdom experience I have to 2,100,000. I know it can be done, because I've seen it done.

If you think I'm lying, then you don't know me.

That's all. Someone tell me if I get restored. I will also forum PM Stefan about this, and link him here.

Thanks for your time.

I totally agree that this sucks. It's okay that you lose something when switching to another god - maybe a grace damage which wears off after a while, like your max is dropped to half for a few days. But losing more than 75% of your overall Exp is... too much anyway. Who says you got the experience with the help of your god? I hope you get them back...

It does seem unfair, but those are the mechanics of the game. If you get restored then it should only be because the experience penalty for everybody is changed.

Which I most definitely think it should be. I lost roughly half of my experience, that's madness ..

I lost over 1 million exp in a freak dungeon accident which I was entirely not to blame (it was a glitch in the game) and I never got restored, I also lost another million earlier that week cuz of a freak alchemy accident, didn't get restored there either, but yeah, I think you losing that much really doesn't make much sense, because some people lose only like 100000 and others 1000000

If it was from a bug, then you should have, without a doubt, been restored ..

Yeah, but anyway, if I'm not restored my character is gone, and I'm not going to go and get ~90 spells back, sorry .. :|

I, personally, wouldn't know how much I'd lose, but I wouldn't think it possible to lose more than half - and given the possible advantages of a new god one might think that the loss is acceptable. The problem is, nobody knows how much they'd lose...

I thought that I'd be able to retain, at least, level 12. I didn't expect to go from level 13 to level 10, and lose over 1 million experience. From my switching of gods in the past, I NEVER lost anywhere NEAR that much, so I had no reason to think that I would ..

'Cause in a world where if you die and respawn, you shouldn't get weaker cuz you died, but a god can take back the powers that he granted you (Note that to use certain prayers to kill people, you need to pray to aq god to be able to use it, thus, it was by his hand where you gained the power, not your own.)

I went from level 14 to level 8, I switched from bile to luc and lost all that exp. Stop your complaining, if you have friends get some level 5 maps, give them to the person, and just leech exp off them. Thats what i'm doing and I am at level 12 now, though I went back to level 9 recently because I thought Ogma was better than Govannon. -_-

Because generally you can switch without losing so much experience, but sometimes you keep trying to switch and it pushes you off the altar, it took me 24 times to switch from Govannon to Bile and I lost 4 levels.
You should set it so it takes a relatively small portion and you switch over, you shouldn't have to keep praying over and over losing massive amounts of EXP.

I switched to Gov. and lost 1 level, but it didn't hurted because i now can use serious wounds to nearly kill them then, flaming sword of govannon+2 ;P

But yes, it's sad, but when i started i got pked (i was in battle mode for more Exp, before this ring-the-bell stuff) and lost all my levels, even due it was little (2 or 3). But if you have a lot of Exp. in wisdom it comes harder, i think it's more dangerous the stronger you and your wisdom are.

I agree that when a penalty ranges from loosing 1 lvl or loosing 90% of your xp, then it's a problem.

I don't like the idea of people switching on a whim to maximize powergaming aspects per god one second to the next, but you shouldn't have this happen like this.

IMO

Stefan...make switching Gods work like this...wisdom level x 5,000 = amount of exp you lose. Double if you switch to a enemy God. So if Lockey here was lv13 he should have lost 65,000 exp.....If it was an enemy God we switched too...130,000 exp (which is alot.) X_x

Well.

Did you not read what I wrote?

I restarted, so I can't do that.

Plus, you could have made mention of this yourself, and possibly gotten your lost experience back (should they decide to change how this works). I think something fair is Chris's idea paired with not being able to use any prayers for a day or two. Maybe longer to prevent constant switching. That would include blessing weapons and such.

Restoring should only happen when a bug occurs. Praying and knowing you will lose EXP (no matter if you didn't know you would lose such a great amount) and then restarting is not an acceptable excuse to be restored.

Yeah, I'm bored, also I got a bunch more goodness to spread (once my other project is complete), apparently, when I'm in pain (just came from 2 hour long track team practice) I'm a nicer person, and that me being nice from the start...you get the idea...I also babble a lot when in pain, often nonsensically.

Fact still remains that you will lose experance from switching gods, I don't know the amount no one does. You should not get a restore, and you probably will not. If you do we all should, which will never happen.

I agree with most everybody else here. You knew the risks. Honestly, I don't think it should change one bit. There needs to be severe punishment for up and leaving your God to go to another one. If there wasn't, people would swap back and forth whenever they desired.

That's not roleplaying, that's not anything, but being greedy and wanting the power of all the Gods. It's the entire reason there are 8 Gods to choose from, so that you have to pick one and have their strengths and weaknesses. Not so you can hop between them and get advantages when you need them. Do you go and worship 8 different Gods in real life? "Today I'm worshipping Bile, but I think I'm going to switch to Brigid, but tomorrow I'll definitely need to switch to Govannon..." It's like talking about them as if they're shoes. You stick with one, if you find another you like better after a period of time, then make the move, but after that, you should be done moving around.

First, you 'know you loose xp' yeah fine.

BUT - A friend of mine, changed from Ogma to Govannon, had lvl 13 was lvl 12 after still in wis.

If that was my history with xp loss, then I would not say you can blame Locke for not knowing how bad it can be.

It does not really improve gameplay, or people's enjoyment to have wildly ranging penalties that are not well documented.

People often switch faiths IRL, but you see, IRL, there are no god bonuses, you won't have your god bless your weapons for you, you won't have storekeepers buying those weapons, so don't compare real life with a game.

The gods in GK are representations of real life concepts. He's not comparing anything, he's simply faulting the realism in your proposition.
