Stupid person.

Yes,the stupid person is:

thrashsoul

He deleted everything at Gaia;levels, graphics, ganis, heads etc..
If this guy works for you, take care.
Please,Nemesis or someone else, ban this guy.
I got a lot of proofs.
and I dont belive in things like: 'I was hacked'.
He is responsable for his account.

Well I logged on Gaia to see if you were on, he was the only RC on and I found it strange that nothing was loading, so I opened the playerlist and he was the only person on, then he logged off.

And unless the IP range was set at *.*.*.*, then it's impossible for ANYONE to get on his RC, due to the fact it scans IP.

It wasn't his fault..we sorted it out...

A lot of playerworlds now must change their ways or there will be problems with RC and IP ranges. I will be going to all playerworlds to ensure they are doing things correctly and making sure they keep up the amount of security we can have for them to use.

oh,it wasn't his fault?!
we will be opening february,21th and I lost a lot of new levels,a lot of new graphics and ganis, and it wasn't his fault?!
He is responsable for his account, and I think he must be banned globally.
That's what happened to account 'Magic_Kitty',why that's not gonna happen to Thrashsoul?
I think the rule must be same for all.

Nemesis, whatever happens on his account, is his responsibility.
Even it it gets hacked, still his account.

I almost got globaly banned because my brothers friend deleted all levels on maloria.
Same sould happen now.

Reason why i didn't get banned:
I was co-manager, and we had backups from day before.

A bit more information, please?

Without hearing this information, all I can say is that someone's account is their own responsibility, and for it to become "hacked", they either have to run a trainer, or give their password to someone, or not be hacked at all but lie about being hacked.

Actually know you dont. All you need is to some how get infected by a trojan it doesnt require downloading a trainer at all. A few years back I knew a guy I considered a good friend. (back before graal) We played JK Dark Forces II, we where constantly downloading player made levels and mods for it and sending them to each other. Then one time he sent me a zipped file and I went to open it and the file vanished. It got so bad I had to reformat my entire computer because of it. So all it really takes is you to trust some one enough to open a file from them. Or some one to impersonate a friend that you do trust etc.. Or like quite a while back there was some one who had a fake game that was really a trojan. They got alot of people with high access to graal. But thanks to IP ranges nothing really happened.

Osrs, you're going to look like a big fool if what I think happened, happened. If thrashsoul didn't do it (which I doubt he did) then someone got his pass and got on RC and did it on his account.

This means that YOU, yes YOU, did not set an IP range for his account. Since it was probably *.*.*.* ANYONE with his account and pass could access Gaia RC. If you want to leave big security holes open like that, then I think the blame should be equally divided between you and thrashsoul.

You = Didn't make sure he had an ip range set for his RC
Him = Didn't keep his password safe

See, if either of these things didn't occur, you would have no problem. Even if the people got his pass, they couldn't access RC if you had set an ip range.

Well, I do think, this time, he was responsible. He was Lead Developer on Bravo, and his account deleted our entire levels folder and things from our NPC Database. The difference is, here, an IP range WAS set, and the IP of the person deleting the files matches the one of the thrashsoul that was logging on days prior to it.

I just logged on and found out about this. We don't have backups to everything that was deleted, so this is a major setback for us.

O.o, in this case it seems to be his fault, IF you have solid proof. And for the other, osrs, u cant say anything, because you didnt do your job. And I think graal will be better off without some of those gaia levels . But it does suck taht that happened.

I dont do my job? lol
You were hired as LAT and didn't made 1 level while you were staff. You just fixed 1 level and destroyed it.
We had new levels,a lot of new levels, those old levels was 'gone'.
But now,we will have to open Gaia with those same 'terrible' levels because a person deleted everything.

Dont worry about Mykel he cant help that he's ignorant.

As for the levels. Cant you check with your level makers and staff to see if any of them have the levels or back ups still? I know when its me I always make a back up once a week of the overworld and when making levels I always save them all to a specific folder or disk.

Yeah that's kind of strange that you guys don't save levels you make.... I mean I've never heard of someone that makes a level, uploads it, and then deletes it from their harddrive. I just don't see the point in that. Levels don't take up that much file space...

The forums thrashsoul was hosting for oasis don't work either... I don't know what's going on.

well, if Thrashsoul's IP Range was set to his I.P (if he had cable). Then it could of been a little brother or sister if he has ne O_o. Just a suggestion, I just think Global Banning some1 because he deleted levels, gfx, etc is a bit too harsh... y not warn him now and if he gets "hacked" again then global ban him or something...

Who gave ya the Idea the IP Was set? I came on when it happened and it wasnt. I set all ips on all accounts. Sorry

Brandon thats not true at all.
The IP Doesnt Match.
One is SouthBell DSL
The IP That loged on RC was UUNET.
In diffent states.
And about 80% of your accounts didnt have IP Sets

And unless you set every last part of the IP range then people can get on. So even if one has a * in it, its very possible. And the BIG problem is that ALOT of people use RC at school, not only should you be learning but that means anyone on school network could be a threat if they get your password!

Okay, first of all I dont understand why the account doesnt get globally banned. They have proof he/she deleted levels in multiple and/or just one servers, one servers should be enough, yet not only that. I think you guys should secure ur rights, have a rights system, and just another thing. They guy or the "account" shouldnt get a chance, cause all others who tryed and did destory a playerworld, has been banned.
