For a start, I'm not a he, Im she Just thought I would clear that up.

The first level is dark, but it's a mine.. and our charaters have different abilitys, so out dwarves will have better vision in the darkness than other. Others will use a lamp/spell to lighten the way if they wish.. I will lighten it up a shade or two and see how to feels. I will take up the idea of adding more deatil to the floor too.


In the second:
Yeah, you can walk under the spiked wall, gives it more of an effect.

I have seen Birdbird levels before, I like his work.. as you said simular style.
