Graal3d?

To some people, this may sound like a REALLY ****ty idea. I've been having so much fun the past week playing UT2003, I'm kinda tired of playing the basic stuff of Graal. Graal3d will probably bring ALOT of new players and new features, so I'm all up for it. I just hope that they leave some sort of bar at the bottom to chat in the game, and a playerlist function (F7). That way, we could keep the community and still have a new experience.

is graal3d the thing that we used to play when a server would go down? it was like 3d characters and you would just stand around and such, stefans sig has a character from it

Also the new version we are working on have nothing to do with all the version you have seen before.

I'm thinking this Graal 3D will be great for making mini games and spoofs of mods of other games, but not that great for role-playing and classic style gaming. I'm looking forward to it.

Verions 1 and 2 were the ones like Stefan's signature.
Version 3 was a brand new game. Ghost Pirate took an immeadiate liking to the third version. Hehe.

I H A T E the idea.

It's already been proven that when Stefan tries to juggle two servers the older server dies. I don;t want to play a 3D version of Graal, a year ago I would have but I have worked 500 hours of my life into creating a strong Kingdoms character, I am not about to abandon that all.

My character has more put in it than yours, and I'm willing to give it up for something better. 2k2 is just too unbalanced. Too many strong people, and too many weak people. The strong always win, meaning the weaker cannot catch up.

I seriously am hoping 2k2 is reset now when it is fully finished. Too many *****s have abused bugs and it's just unfair anymore. I train hard and someone just finds a bug and becomes 10x stronger? That's crap. If a reset happens everything will be balanced, everyone starts over, no bugs (after it is FULLY 100% done) and everything will be great..but right now it's just..bleh..

Why should it be reset? So you can be the strongest again?

I did not roleplay the way I wanted to so far because I needed to spend time getting money for some much needed items. If Kingdoms was reset I could play my character from the begginning with weak weapons and rings while other people get strong. I don't want to have to this this again, ever, and put my real character (not Vladimir) on hold for a few months.

LOL, face it guys, the alpha server is being reset. Well not in the physical sense, since it won't be reset physically. However it will basically be dead to the world when the final server comes out. I mean who wants to play on alpha when it no longer gets updated, has no staff to work on it, and everyone is playing on the bug free final server? It's going to either A) be dominated by the final server or B) hold a large group of player's attention and spread the current 2k2 playercounter over 2 servers, thinning it out even more then it already is.

Once the final version is out, the alpha server will have like 3 people on it at it's peak points during the day. All your hard work IS for nothing, as your hard work won't be transferred to the new server. It will be left to rot on the old one. :P

But Konidias, how long will that be? In 2 or 3 years maybe? By that time I won't be playing anyways.

Is there no plan for a proffessional server which will stay? Which you don't need to worry about loosing, and which will first be completed before work on a new one beggins.

Also, are you 100% positive that Stefan plans to have Alpha and finished Kigndom servers and will not transfer items?

You protest losing your "work" in an online game.

I once felt the same when they were considering 2k1.

Now I don't care about resets, because "work" != "fun."

It's not the result that matters, its how you got there. How much fun you had along the way. If you lose sight of this, then you will be very miserable

I disagree.

The results are at least half the fun. Graal's the sort of game where sometimes you have to work to get fun.

I didn't have any fun getting to where I am. I have a dream rp character I want to play. But I also want to be at least moderatly strong. And the fastest way to make money is using a naginata killing dievils in dungeons. So I did that. I got rings I do not need now to kill those dievils. And now, once I am finished and can within a week begin to do what I want, I find that the reset is comign soon and a new game is being developed.

Yes. There will be nothing transferred from the Alpha server. It will, in a sense, be cut from it's lifeline and die. You're not going to get to keep your cool weapons and massive experience when you go to the new server. You have to start all over again. Although they leave you that nice "be a ***** and stay on the old server and we'll pretend we care" option.

I thought that Kingdoms would not be like 2k1 where a new one is made a year after it's release. Hell, 2k2 is being suceeded before it's even done. If you play on 2k2 now you will losoe it all soon, if you play Graal 3D alpha when it comes out you will loose it all when the full 3D comes out. If you play Kingdoms when it is finished, you will loose it all when 3D final comes out. When you play 3D final you will loose it all because Stefan will pick up new skills and make a new server.

Now that is fine for players who can adapt and play on whatever server is popular. But not me who just wants to work hard obtainign what I need and than doing something else which I have in mind.

When will there ever be a proffessional semi-permanant server liek those on Everquest etc.?

If the journey is not extremely enjoyable, then the destination will feel even better as it will feel earned.

Graal3D will not replace Graal Kingdoms it will be a add-on to Graal Kingdoms. You will start playing Graal 3D with your Graal kingdoms stats or objects.

The goal is to do in 3D what is hard to make in 2D but it's not our goal to switch everything in 3D ! 2D is by far better for most features !

Then we will continue working hard on Graal kingdoms and put some features in 3D (Quests, Capture the Flags, Kingdom war) ...

About Graal Kingdom final server we have not decided yet what we will do, but this is something I will discuss with you when the final version will come. What is sure is I will never reset your character ! I am against doing it.

Add-on to Graal Kingdoms....well that changes everything. Most people I asked told me that mostly likely it will be a whole other client/game with it's own seperate servers.
