Spark910 has a spectacular aura about

Why on the sign up form, considering information wont be given out so I can't see why it woudl help anyone, do they need to know your job and your income. Do they all boast about how many poor and rich people they have, jsut wondered if anyone knows the actuall point in that.

I guess it could be used to see what range of people are signing up.
It would help for advertising.

The e-mail service is pretty much a third party thing. They use another company (and probably pay a small fee) to get those e-mail adresses going so you guys can sign up for it. They never made the registration form I bet

Do you guys always need to put negative comments on everything ?
When i have canceled banners on Graal a few year ago you were complaining because you said it was a good source of incomes.

This Email system is a partnership with everyone.net, it's sponsored Email system, we will have a % on banner incomes. The everyone.net product is simple and well done, with anti spam and a lot of other good functions.

And if you don't like banners you can pay the annual subscription, for $19 you get a full Email system with anti spam, pop and more ...

When we had our own Mail system, it was a real nightmare, all week someone get flooded and it was needed to put filter on the firewall to stop this attacks.

Re: [email protected] [Why?]

It's because when they have information on you, they can sell targeted advertising and that pay a lot better than non targeted one.

Seeing as how they have pop ups that attempt to install stuff on my comp, or open new browser windows and minimize them so I do not see them, I am certain that I will not use this service.

Lyndzey et al:

What people wanted was a POP3/SMTP system; those are hard to find apart from employers and ISPs. Evidently graal.net service provides that if you want to pay, but people want it as a part of their 40 bucks a year they pay to graal

Unixmad:

Keep up the good work.

I've signed up for this, although I'll probably not use it much. My current email came free with cable modem and lets me download into outlook express.

I signed up for it - Not sure how much I'll use it though. I have a little program that filters out banner ads, popups, nosey javascripts, etc, so it's not really a problem for me It's simply a matter of considering using everyone.net again, because I dislike them.

Graal.net email is unattractive. The reason popups in Graal were so effective is because everyone who played Graal would see them. Most people who play graal don't even read the forums, so they wouldn't even know of it's existence. Additionally, most people already have email and they don't want nor need a new email service. Your intentions are good, but you aren't going to get very many people to sign up for it. I mean, basically, you are going out of your way to read an email when there are providers such as hotmail that are easier to use.

''The stupid thing has pop ups. I'm not going to use it.''

Pop-Up ads? Don't know why though, most websites and good businesses have advertisments and pop-ups.

I doubt they will due to confeditantial (Its spelt wrong) stuff, and every time something goes wrong or e-mails get deleted or passwords etc... They will blame your for everything (Player will) and considering its a free service is pretty cool, nice.

Then dont use it. There intenetions are to become a useful service and a good popular MMORPG with lots of other things not just a game. Then if no one signs up its up for them, but for those who sign up then its good for them as they have wanted a graal e-mail for a long time sine the other went. I find that service quite easy to use, and if you dont want to use it then dont, [b]although a simple redirrection/link on main website would be nice (Haven't checked if there is one yet)

Hey Guys

Well First off.
I think its a ok idea nothing against it. You guys complan about not having a graal email addy anymore you cry and whine so he adds it. So you keep whineing. Me being a Linux Person and understand. Email Services Can run outta control very fast If not controlled Not saying it wasnt. But They have alot on there hands. So if its getting flooded or bombed its slowing down the servers where other things may be hosted. Thats my 2 cence so yay.

Ps im sooo back

I argee with the kid. Dont want it dont use it. and dont complain about not wanting to use it lol. Also Gator isnt a Hax. Its a badly programmed peice of annoying software but its not a Hax. Also i may at some time setup graalmail.org or something and do that But it wouldnt be offical in anyway. Unless Unixmad gives me approval.

Angel don't need to waste your monies, as most people said that have hotmail or an ISP one, so they can use that. And if they want a graal one its right there for a cost of $0.00 so don't make one becuase everyone has an E-mail just because they don't want pop-ups. They can just live with it, its fine as it does what it is supposed to do.

They should maybe take out the feature of getting a "graalonline" email then, as promo when you sign up for a p2p. Anyway, Gator is spyware. Spyware seems to me very close to a trojan horse protected by a disclaimer.

Hey, here is a fairly simple concept: If you don't want the E-mail service, don't use it, don’t gripe about it. It’s an optional service. If people want it to use it, fine. If people don’t want to use it, fine. At least Graal is offering something to those who wish to take advantage of it.

Bah, none of you seem to understand what I am saying. I offered my opinion in a thread that was about something. I'm not whining about it, though I think the effort could have been spent elsewhere. At least they are trying to do nice things.

It's not a matter of we don't understand what you're saying; it's more of the matter that this is optional and the individual has the choice to use, or not to use Graal's E-mail service. While it would be nice to have something more official, there is cost involved for Unixmad to offer an E-mail service official to Graal. At least with the route they’re going they can bring in some revenue to Graal.

I don't think that anyone using IE has Javascript or ActiveX enabled
I am not sure if using Hotmail is the better alternative, where it is officially spyed by Microsoft

Must have been way back before the "Spam filter" feature.

And Stefan, at least Microsoft's spying of Hotmail stops at Hotmail. Gator tends to spy on everything you do. If you wanted to go to a porno site, for example, the people who made Gator would know. o.o

...and easier to hack. There are like 5 bajillion ways to get into someone's hotmail account. If you don't like the new e-mail service, then don't use it. Don't complain about something, because complaining isn't going to make anything better.

It's like somebody spending a year building you a house, and then you say. "Eh, I don't really like it, I'm not paying for this!"

Personally I think it's nice to have a graal e-mail service. Get some pop-up killing software and you don't have to worry about the popups. I think some of you just like being cheap and lazy. :P
