On Stealing

I believe the messages for stealing should be changed to make more sense. After you steal from a monster and/or it notices your attempt at pilfering, it says "Your attempt is prevented" and I think it should say "The monster stops you from pilfering it" or "You cannot steal from a monster more than once!" if that's the case.

Also, it should say, "You cannot steal from players!" instead of "You can only steal from NPC!"

Ehr .. it doesn't matter. It doesn't make much of a difference at all.

I may as well post a suggestion to change the greeting from "Welcome Back!" to "Hello again, Graalian!" or something ..

Well, to the amature thief, these messages are very confusing. It took me awhile to realize that 1. You can steal but once from every monster and the message it displays afterwards is "Your attempt is prevented" so it should be "You cannot steal anymore from this monster" and 2. You don't always get stuff from them despite them noticing you.

I think, especially since Stefan is anti RP that he'd want to focus energies on making the game user friendly. Changing the text messages is a good way to do that.

Huh?! Text messages are ignored by most people x.x And, why is stefan "anti RP"? Anyways, though, I used to be a thief, and I understood the messages perfectly.

We on Valikorlia tried adding RP to the game and it was ill recieved, to say the least. I don't want to get into it else I be chastisted.

And may I remind you the only way to find out if your theft worked is by looking to see the message on the screen, well, that and actually looking in your inventory every single time you try to steal.

Here is a tip. Bind stealing to "S" .. therefore everytime you attack you try to steal (make sure you have a hand free, don't use a shield if you're using a sword). Bind "/clear" to "1" so that you can easily clear the screen of all the messages that pile up as you attack.

Now, you no longer need to worry about what the messages say..

I know all about the binding, and thanks for reminding me on the limit text messages, but my point here is that I WANT to see the messages and that I WANT them changed so they're easier for the new to understand.

Also, people WANT you to remember this is an alpha. Stuff is changed all the time. So instead of complaining about the messages, even though you're one of the few that cares about them, wait a bit before you start screaming WANT. =x
