I am not here to slander anyone like PS or the entire server team, but about 2 weeks ago PS asked me if I could give him permission to put his server online so he can do the scripts and other NPC server related things. He said he needed my permission so Stefan could put it up. I said "Do you have the required things?" He said "No", so naturally, my answer was no, he could not have a private server with my permission, he had to follow the rules like everyone else.
Now I don't know if this is due to the fact that he works on graal 2002 debug (it probably is, actually), but a few days ago he told me that Stefan said he was allowed to share space with another private or hidden server, and he asked me what I felt about it. I said "I don't like the idea because you're going to run into some problems", but of course, it was not my decision to make. Stefan let him already, so what can I do? Scold him? It's Stefan's choice, not mine, not the PWA's choice either. I can just shake and nod and hope for the best, that he will let me on the server to at least test it before it goes public (luckily, I have access to renegade and I can go on and check progress out).
But you've got another problem. Rob said he wants to release Renegade public within a week or so, so what's going to happen then? No, obviously he doesn't want to have his server public, so he'll probably go ask Stefan for a private on his own, and he'll skirt the PWA like other servers have. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes, and it really dissapoints me. Just because you have connections or work directly below the game owners does not mean you should be entitled to special incentives.
Like I said, no offense to PS or his server, but that's the unfortunate way business is conducted here.
