Projectshifter - Scripting Jobs??

I feel now that I get offers to join 'upcoming PW's' all the time x.X I know a lot of my other scripting friends get asked this also. It DOES in fact get old (flattering, but old). If you want me to script for your server, you have to have some way to prove to me that you are better than the rest, and that doesn't mean you have just started and have these ideas. Ideas mean nothing to me, as they quickly can change. If you want to make a PlayerWorld, congratualations, but get a number. There are TONS of playerworlds in creation, and over 75% of them don't even come CLOSE to getting up. I don't mind helping out scripting. BUT this comes on a condition. I want to know that the person asking for help has SOME concept of how to do things, and is at least attempting to try and do it themselves. You don't gain anything by IM'ing or PM'ing me saying "do you have such-and-such a script?". There aren't designated scripts for things. 10)% of things I have EVER given out are of my own creation, yours should be to. I would like to help you guys, but show me that you have tried. And there is nothing more annoying than showing me this script of yours and expecting me to find the glitches. Most of the time it is 100% in the wrong direction. Put parts you need help w/ for me, or post in NPC area. If you want me to script for your server exclusively, I want to know that I'm getting something out of it :P Upgrade an account is always nice way to get me to be your script bish :P

you cannot expect a new server to just pull out levels and graphics out of their ass. The are a new server, what do you expect?

well we need scripts and i am learning to script by shifter XD
such as vars and stuff that can make money on graal like wood choping and stuff

we just made a new Raft making idea we got the gif and stuff all we need is the script
and all we need is scripts and eXodia will be up in no time i think.

I understand quite clearly, but you don't expect a NEW server to just show a half done server, do you?

hmmm its not a baddy anymore its going to be a pet lol XD the pet system will have Exp/strengh/health/magic power/defense/weak points/strong points/stamina.
and a few morei can remember
well we might have it so u can equip armer to your pet!
anyway about the weak/strong parts

weak-
say there was like a butterfly pet its weakness would be fire

stong-
a butterly has good are defense and speed.

i just got a great idea
make a weather system and on some days/weeks there can be a storm and the player moves back verry slightly.
anyway Shifter this is snakeandy XD

Even though they're new, they should understand that they'd need to show a few screens of the server , not just "wanna join?"

That's part of the point... if they're a new server, then why should people come work for them? God, when i started on MY project, it was just me and one other guy. NOW I've got TONS of people (although I keep them hidden

) but I didn't just get them b/c I said "Hey, wanna join?" I script, people know that, when they know that I am hiring, I offer them some things, barter, like this guy that's making one of our tilesets, he is being taught NPC Server (or was until he abused my trust), I will teach along the way. I've taught many people how to get better and use the NPC Server during the time, that I'd be satisfied if my PW never gets finished. It WILL get finished b/c I've stayed with it the whole time, but back on topic. If someone wants people to join, they themselves have to show that they're serious about it, and show some work that THEY DID. I do 90% of the scripts for Anarchy... so what? I expected to do most of the scripting when I started, that's how it is. I showed Aftershock one of my scripts last night, he said with a brief evaluation, that it needs GFX, but he'd give it as 7 as is, and it has a couple of bugs to work out. I think that's pretty good when it isn't final and everything. So explain to me WHY some new guy who thinks he's going to make the greatest PW project ever is going to get my scripts? It isn't reasonable for someone to want to me to script like hell for them. I don't know about some of you guys who post things that are really retarded here, but maybe you don't comprehend how complex and how much thought can go into some NPC's. Perhpas they don't even script much?

An upgraded account for scripts...pfft..Hardly worth the money. I agree with Malak. You should get over yourself. It's good you know how to script, but don't be an ego freak about it.
