Sigh. Things change when ideas are implemented in Graal. It was questionable for me to copy Tetris with Metris, but I got away with it. I've said it once and (because people seem unable to understand things without multiple iterations) I'll say it again: Newness to the gaming world is difficult, and a failure to achieve it is forgivable. Newness to Graal is easy, and so unoriginality within the scope of Graal is bad.

It doesn't really matter whose idea he intended to copy, because this is all about public opinion. My argument is simply that many players will see the menu as a tired ripoff, assuming the playerworld ever gets finished/accepted.

I see what you are saying, and personally, I wouldn't use a ring menu if I was him. But he has done such a good job on his graphics, and the whole layout would work perfectly with a ring menu. Hmm...but it might not be to hard to think of something similiar, but way different the Oasis...
